This is my first time ever training starting tomorrow and I'm kinda clueless. I know I'm gonna get a mouthpiece and a gi, but I'm not 100% on how to dress for the occasion or if there's anything I should bring. Any suggestions?
Also, is it recommended to wear a cup? Pardon my noobness.
First off scratch the GI off your list! lol No but for real you should for sure wear a cup man i've gotton my heuvos smashed a few times and it sucks, a cup is i good investment

bring yourself. and a good attitude. if you go to practice pissed off or distracted it will affect your learning.

I like to wear a cup because somehow my balls are a knee magnet lol I feel more relaxed knowing that my balls are protected but some people don't like wearing it. It's a personal preference.

I think if you always fight in a cup and mouthpiece might as well train with a cup and mouthpiece. People will shin ride on ur nutz and pass your guard

water a lot of water and some form of protein shake afterwards and deep heat and have fun :)

personally i hate mouthpieces and cups I feel like they weigh me down. who knows maybe that will make me toothless and impotent in the future. but hey like my dad always said nutshots build character
I've found shock doctor jock and cup to be the best so far. Had no probs at all with em. I wear a custom fit mouthpiece so obviously recommend one of those. Other than that shorts and a rash guard is all I can think of as necessary.
I recently started JJ so I was in your shoes 3 weeks ago. Go in with an open mind, and be fearless. Regardless of age or size don't think too much. Also be ready to work. Enjoy meng, I'm having a blast.

Let us know how you like class. If you're slightly unprepared as far as equipment is concerned don't be to worried. Most if not all schools are pretty laid back about giving you a few screw-ups. Just don't be unprepared with attitude or respect and you'll be fine. It's gonna be a good time, have fun.
