110% bro coaches that yell weird useless tips like "Push it, push it!" or "Attack, attack!"
bare feet in bathrooms FTW. i almost came unglued on one of our teen competitors for this at the last NAGA.
Singlets, they are for competitive wrestling only...thank you.
I wouldn't dare talk about jiu jitsu as i only have a few classes, but i have a black/red taekwondo belt and by far the most dangerous tournaments were the white, yellow and orange belts. They tried to pull complex techniques that looked cool but that they didn't master and people got hurt. You should master the basics and build from there. I assume in jiu jitsu it goes the same way and i think that is why the first poster doesn't like Flying arm bars done by noobs in tournaments.
wrestlers that only wrestle and do not attempt to submit
When Coaches yell "Don't Tap out!"
Your opponent wearing 10th planet gear. Especially if you are not familiar with the system.
+1
Ref's that are in and from the same camp as yoour opponent!
Unfortunately experienced this BS just the other day at my first comp.Quote:

Useless refs talking or looking somewhere else when they should pay attention on what's going on on the mats i.e dudes taking down each other outside of the mated area aka CONCRETE FLOORS lol Not cool at all
Hey Joe. Good to see some of my 10th planet Indy bros on here
Assholes who grab fingers
My all time favorite, has to be the "shadow boxing" warm up. nothing like getting the hips and shoulders loose for striking when you are in a grappling comp.........
The reason is 99% of these guys don't have a clue what they are doing. It can be dangerous for your opponent and for you. You could snap their arm or snap your own neck. I've see a few beginners get hurt pretty bad before. It's funny cause they want to get a flying arm bar cause it looks cool, but have no concept of ANY guard pass.
i cant belive no one said:
takedown to stall win by 2 points.
i hate when you are never called for your division and didnt get to grapple
This was the case at my last comp over two years ago. Amateur mma which mean't no head shots. Anyway, after hitting me in the face 4 times, he finally got a warning from the ref. My opponent, the ref, the judges were all from the same gym.
I haven't competed since...
Refs who are unsure of the rules
+1....+2 if I'm allowed. There's a video on here somewhere of a guy getting a beautiful old school into side control and the ref gave him no points because he said it was an "invisible guard." I would have been PISSED about not getting the 2 points for the pass and 3 points for side control.
The guy reffing your match is watching the match right next to you
Waiting around all damn day for your division to start
Coaches flipping out and screaming at the refs
GI division
;)
Even outside of tournaments, dudes with fauxhawks or other sticky, hair-gel-y hairdos.
no calf cranks in gi
Guys warming up with there girlfriends who are all dolled up and flirty. Sometimes they too are competing but it turns into a distracting show making wonder if they are going to get it on or prepare for their match.
