Man he did such a good job of being patient in the 50/50 once he secured it, nice sub!
The brazilian never attacked Vinnies legs once...I wonder if 50/50 is a position hes not entirely familiar\comfortable with. Props to vinnie on the toe hold.
I'm sure to an untrained eye that would seem extremely boring but watching the chess match between those two was very interesting. Both showed a great deal of patience and unfortunately for the other guy he felt a little too safe there. Thanks for sharing.
For the record Buchecha is awesome. He is a Cavaca black belt and if you know Cavaca, you know they are great at leg locks.
Great job Vinny.
that is a huge win for vinny. buchecha is amazing.
Very nice job, Vinny. :)
awesome. seems like i have seen so many high level matches end in toe holds lately.
That was a great match. Toeholds are scary. I keep getting my knee jacked up by them. This last time I was trying to secure a hook with my far leg to transition from double under hooks to back mount. I was extending my leg out to secure the hook when my toe got yanked and my knee popped. Something about putting the boot on, or extending the leg during a toehold causes all kinds of weirdness to happen in the knee.
I'll probably tell people, that I roll with, that I'll only roll with a catch and release policy on toeholds from now on since I don't need to be gradually sawing away at my tendons every time I roll. Thankfully my knee is healing well and I should be back to live rolling this week.
yaya, great sub.
Way to be patient and get the win.
Nice perserverance in the 50/50, seemed one sided tho as far as offense from there, Vinny was all over it. Great win.
Very nice.
Awesome Video. God Job Vinny.
I'm always on the edge of my seat watching 50/50 battles. I don't know what the guys talking about being boring, to me its a very technical game of grapple's chess.
Thanks for posting Eddie, I learn a great deal just from watching the position applied.
It looked like the other guy had a nice window to apply a toe hold once Vinny committed to his, but was more concerned with trying to kick his foot away.
I like the catch and release policy on most leg locks, with a think-about-it-don't-really-do-it policy on any kind of heel look.
Good work !
beautiful Vinny
Beautiful, this is what I need in my game
I don't like using 50/50 that much, but there are a couple of training partners that I inevitably lock up with in that position. Aside from the cross-body heel hook, which we don't always work with, I don't get a lot from there.
Vinny's opponent was pretty safe until he extended both legs and allowed Vinny to go belly-down.
