just in time for it to hit mainstream radio!
Dubstep only sounds good if there are massive subs blowing in your face in some dark warehouse that has lights flashing everywhere, while you are dancing with girls wearing stars on their boobs with fluffy boots and glowsticks everywhere.
I've been diggin dubstep lately as well. I can only listen to in in short doses though.
^same here coach. keeps me from falling asleep at work though. It's def more fun in a club though.
I think you'd have a MUCH MUCH better time undiscovering dubstep and crawl back into the hole until dubstep dies from being gang raped by a pack of grizzly bears with AIDS and bleeding dicks and then slowly eaten alive and then passes through the bears lower intestines and comes out the bears assholes all bloody and covered in fecal AIDS....
Clearly Im right...right? lol jk I just really hate most of techno and dubstep just sounds like the worst thing Ive ever heard
Listen to some to Nujabes thats real music =P

but I bet some people wont like this either just shows everyones got their own tastes lol
man everyone is so down on the electronic stuff these days. it's like your c0ming out of some closet just to admit you might like it. i love all kind of music and just because it isn't Hendrix doesn't mean it can't touch your soul.
enjoy the dubstep Mike. i like stuff more like this personally....

but some dubstep is good too :)
I think its the same with food , you can not like certain foods but can start to develop a taste for it the same with music , and also like music certain foods you just love right off the bat no need to develop a taste for it . Thats how I feel toward techno or eletronica or house (w/e they all sound the same lol) I could develop a taste for it but feel no need or desire to go through that process of developing a taste for it since most of it just sounds the same or like crap
but those songs you put chris are alright better then most dubstep ive heard so far but Im just old school I like hearing vocals , guitarist, bass, piano , you know real instrument players who have sweat bled and cried to get good not computer jockeys who learn to mix from youtube (again just drinking that hatorade I apologize lol)
Not to toot my own horn or anything. But I was one of the first (if not the first, there might have been some people on the west coast) that was listening to dubstep in Canada. back when it was still starting out in the UK, i had some buddies I talked to on a forum online (Flux Pavillion and n3ka from n3k4.com) and they would send me songs. if anyone really wants i could make some playlists and upload them. i have roughly 5 gigs of just dubstep on my laptop. i was working on doing internet radio but have no time now since moving
I am a huge big beat techno & dubstep fan. Have been since I was around 14 when I first heard The Chemical Brothers. I am 29 now and still get made fun of everyday for listening to it. A lotta people love it... a lotta people hate it. I love all types of music but big beat and dubstep fall on top of the list for sure.
b-boyfolyf
go on the ukf channel on youtube, they have tones of the stuff on there, I also met skream the weekend, he's one of the biggest dubstep artist around.
how big is dubstep over in the u.s?
I in my opinion, skream actually isnt to big over here in Canada, or well i havent been listening to him recently, i still have a couple of his tracks, but im more into 16bit, stinkahbell, skrillex is huge here i know that, boregore, flux doc p the same, pretty massive. have you ever checked out egothieves?? i like what theyre doing, the release mixes of various artists that range from dark dub, to dub pop mix, and everything inbetween
I don't really know how big it is here, I have just heard a few friends mention it and thought I would check it out. Any certain artists recommended would be great...:)
Is the music in this video "Dubstep"?

^^ Probably not a really good example...at least I don't think so. Here is a good dubstep song.

your big names are Skrillex, Flux Pavillion, and Doctor P (Cookie Monsta is dope to) But theres soo many artists out there with different styles, so alot of it is hit and miss, some you might say, oh that sounds like shit how can anyone listen to it, and others you will be like, damn thats is great. i say start off with looking up those guys and checking out the ukfdubstep channel on youtube and just goin throw random ones seeing what you like.
and @ Bryan Brown, yes it is
A couple popular dubstep songs from skrillex.

You're kidding right? I cannot get away from this stuff,
and I've been trying hard. Seems like every club/bar in
Austin turned into an electronic only club in the last 3 years.
I personally don't like it much, but always thought this
was pretty cool:

We used to call it Drum & Bass ;)
A drum & bass song from late 90's or early 2000's. Cant remember:D

I haven't found any dubstep that tickles my fancy. My cousin creates it and I'm told is really good. I couldn't tell personally from listening to it. I like a litte of everything so I'm sure there's something out there ill like
Michael- Check out Portishead and Thievery Corporation. Don't know if they qualify for Dubstep, but they are great.
I almost flew out to Cali to go to a Portishead concert when Cade had some extra tixs. thats how much I like them.

I'm pretty sure dubstep requires there to be many start/stops,
rhythm shifts, and lots of cranking noises.
Not diggin dubstep... sounds like techno's younger brother who also happens to be missing a chromosome.
Dubstep is awsome :D
I once attended a vampire themed blood rave blaring dubstep all night. Bad call on my part....
I dig alot of the Rock/Dubstep remixes, this one is solid.

I can't believe no one posted this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tveUDzP35qc
Dubstep just sounds like crap.
I like it, leave me alone...lol :)
i cant believe that.. haha i love dubstep. we need to get a dubstep mix cd for the gym!
oh and for anyone that thinks you can't be an artist with soul by using electronic instruments i say check out this autistic master!

Well hes clearly using his piano skills and no one really said you cant be an artist using electrionic its more like you cant be a real artist if you dont use intstruments (ex: using DJ mixer pro on your laptop does not make you an artist)
PS Jenkees is kings
