Ant Lopez wins another gold medal and TWISTER......?

Ant Lopez recently did the colorado open one of Denver's largest tournaments in the area. He won gold in advanced teens 119lbs and under pulling off a sick triangle and a gogoplata.
He then did the Teens Absolute getting bronze losing to an opponent via points who outweighed him by 130lbs.
Then he did the Mens Advanced 135lb division choosing to give up the 15lbs. Ant came up short losing on points but here is his match where his jiu-jitsu was clearly better and in the match attacks viciously with a twister then calf crank, we were all amazed the guy didn't tap.

Ant was severely gassed out in this match, he had 5 matches prior just FYI so he wasn't on his best lol

It isn't that difficult, it isn't a strength move. Five matches isn't a good excuse.

I see what you're trying to say.. but I wouldn't say his jiu jitsu was "clearly better", when he lost the match on points, points being how we score jiu jitsu. More dynamic attacks and diversity of techniques, for sure.

But yea, surprised the guy didn't tap.

The guy probably didn't tap out of pride. I have a few guys who've admitted to me that they hate tapping to younger guys. Ha. I have no pride when it comes to tapping. If it hurts, I'm tapping. If it's for a medal, I'm tapping. If it's for a couple g's, I'm tapping. If it's for 10k or more, then I might resist a bit. :)

Now that guys' gonna be sore as hell, and for what? Hah.

If after a match with a given set of rules, we don't say the person who won is better, what's the point of having competition?

Lol ya people who have that pride are quickly humbled when they roll with Ant, i know if I had that kind of pride Ant would have killed me by now...a few times.

@Eddie I just sent Derek a message that said the same thing, I wonder how that guy is walking right now.

That calf crank was insane. Nice twister, too. But I did not see how that calf crank didn't make him tap. But sometimes it's just a few tenth of an inch to make something work or not.

Most likely because a calf crank is just pain and the guy is mentally tough. With that said I would have tapped 3 hours ago and he obviously is some sort of cyborg.
