Ideal size for jiujitsu?

What are your opinions on the ideal size for jiujitsu? I'm 6'0" and Im finally starting my journey to put on some muscle mass. And for me I feel like 185 would be a good place to stop. Id like to get as much strength as I can without giving up too much cardio or speed. But I was just curious of others opinions on the subject. Assuming the only weight class is absolute.. what size do you feel an individual should be to reach maximum potential in the Jiujitsu world.

5'6 145lbs I'll tear any of your limbs or choke you out.

There is no ideal size.
There are only different styles for different bodies.

2 of the best are completely different sizes. So I do not think it matters all that much.

Just work hard on your technique and conditioning. Let your size be natural. Caio Terra showed that you can do it that way to.

Yeah i dont plan on that happening anytime in the near future lol. Im aiming for that weight by the time im 26.. im still 22. But 140 just isnt cutting it anymore. It sucks going into EVERY match knowing the opponent is going to be stronger than you. :P

Ya ure 6 foot just get as strong as possible without becoming a body builder
Try and be able to atleast be able to bench and squat twice your weight
Strength helps alot in jj

Just work on your strength and try to keep your weight down. Kettle Bells and such. The guys that are in the 185lb division in grappling tourneys generally look like they have been stung by a bunch of bees... Stay thin and long and you will be happy in my opinion.

True, kinda. A major strength difference can win a fight, but against a master of technique, not necessarily. However, putting strength and technique together with good discipline and a never-quit mentality gets the best from a person.
