totally illegal. outrageous
it was just grappling. what's so illegal?
Ignorance of the media!!! They're just like the media in the US. Trying to spin it into something. It was a grappling match that happen to be in a cage. Kids were crying...Wow, go to a pee wee wrestling tournament and count how many kids cry!
(sigh)
I read about this yesterday. What a bunch of fuss about a no-gi JJ match between a couple of kids. If not for the cage, this wouldn't have even become news.
I didn't see any beautiful round card girls!? BAN IT!
Also, Chuck is going to pay that news station a visit for putting such a negative spin on two kids grappling in a cage.

There's no crying in cagefighting.
MMA? What the hell is wrong with these people?
The ignorance levels are alarmingly high, quick, turn on your scouter...
LOL at anyone thinking that was remotely close to MMA. Grappling in a cage is all.
Intentional spin or pure ignorance by the UK Media?
must not have the internet over there, you think they would do some research on what there reporting on.
What's funny is that in the UK judo is the preserve of nice middle-class kids, and watching children's judo you'll see kids being put to the mat much more violently than anything I saw in this match. Strange how when you lose the pyjamas and put a fence around it people are up in arms.
To be fair though, Sky news is a joke over here. There's better coverage of the story here, which clarifies that the kid was crying because he'd never lost before, nothing to do with an injury.

liberal media looking for a reason to outlaw something.
stupid people piss me off.
my sons worst injury came from playing basketball.
Throw one AIDS infected needle in the center of the cage and ill pay to watch.
Media exec~ " No matter what they call it, use the term 'cagefighting' as much as possible."
What about using children as spectacle? as paid for entertainment? Similar to kid actors?
I believe that there is a time and a place, and this wasn't it. Problem with "cage fighting" is that it is a victim of its own successful marketing. What images spring to mind when I say "martial art"? Self defence? Discipline? Strength and flexibility? Now try again with with "cage fighting". If you're the media or Joe public, you'd probably be thinking about a cage or pit, where two men are locked in where the only way out is to beat your opponent to death while the crowd watching are baying for blood.
I'm a maths teacher, and I've lost track of the number of children at school asking me if I'm a "cage fighter". Trouble is as soon as I say that I train in MMA or grappling, they lose interest.
these pussies make me want to live in Thailand

its not only the uk, the same news are being brought here in germany. funny though, you can see pictures of the video, but never the video itself or a link. of course the pictures show a boy crying and two boys standing in a cage....
All depends on the kid and what is allowed. You guys saying how bad it is to see kids do it just makes the case for all the crazies that what to outlaw MMA. I competed in boxing for couple years. Started when I was 8. We would stand in that ring and beat the Sh*t out of each other. No one is looking to outlaw that. Reason????? I'll tell you. Because they have USA boxing over seeing it. They have a long history of keeping there fighters safe.
Same thing should apply to us kids that want to do MMA. Its a sport like any other. If the right people are in charge and rules followed. LET US FIGHT !!!! Why should you guys look at it any differant than amature boxing? Just my thoughts, but what do I know I'm just a kid.LOL.
