Whats "Stupid" is that a "teacher" wouldn't continue to educate himself, while attempting to educate others. Wow! People need to learn the difference between drugs (made by man) And the herb (made by God). The very first page of the Bible states that all herb yielding seed after its own kind, is good and to be used by man as meat. I have discussed this with every religious person I have had the pleasure to speak with. Not a single one could place their opinions over God's. Man says no, God says yes, who do you believe? I know not everyone is religious or follow the same beliefs. But most Brazilians are Catholic. And either way no one can refute MJ is natural, whereas drugs are man made. As far as fake medicine, someone should point him to Rick Simpson, so he can see and hear the proof :) I'm quite sure it won't matter, but at least he would no longer be ignorant, and would be choosing to be stupid after that point. You can lead a horse through the desert to water, but you still can't force it to drink...
Chris I agree 100% on all three of your posts! There are sooo many poor delusional IGNORANT people in this world. So many that your proverbs still hold true. Wow, what a fully fleshed out, well developed, researched and cited perspective on physical fitness and health. That's the only thing I hate about martial arts in general, is the culture of presumed knowledge. Too much saying random stuff and pointing at your belt or your trophy case. That's actually what drew me to Eddie's instructional, he logically explains his perspective on everything and how he came to the conclusions that he has. He doesn't just say, "I tapped Royler." whenever someone argues with him.

I can totally see him believing in what he's saying. I have a feeling the hate will continue to flow until a bona fide TPJJ black belt makes a splash at Abu Dhabi. Sure, Vinny was a nice endorsement of the system, but critics can look at his omoplata sweep and say that it was just an example of high guard in action without feeling the need to credit Eddie (even if Vinny does). I really wish Denny had been healthy enough to make an even bigger statement.
That being said, I don't need Comprido's approval for TPJJ to work for me, so I say let them eat cake.

Andrew Jenkins He wasn't even talking in this video about the rubber guard? I agree with Comprido that weed never has had anything to do with jiu jitsu and never will. With Eddie's logic weed should improve any athletes performance and I don't think many top level athletes are using it to increase thier performance before competition. And for the record Nino Schembri is the "inventor" of the rubber guard. He just didnt call it anything.

People hate on Bravo too much. It think it's ridiculous and comical to be honest. Katy Perry makes a song of drunken friday nights, Threesomes, and sex with aliens and we a'int tripping.
I love martial arts and BJJ; but, this game has a LOT of egos and high horses. Now, I respect Comprido's take ... just wouldn't call Eddie an idiot for advocating marijuana recreationally.

First you need to learn, than you can be able to teach, second respect, I don't try to change the wrestreling or american football names. I never met comprido, but I respect his polited attitude. He always was a great competitor and good example for our kids and I can't say that I don't like Eddie, he can be a great guy, but with only a mistake. Michael Dewitt Jr Madore: This is not the first time Comprido has bashed on Eddie Bravo, the dude is a punk. He may be good at BJJ but he is obviously a punk in life. Have you ever studied RG or do you like most traditional gi practitioners that equate Eddie with the twister and a high guard that Schembri used for two moves (omaplata and gogoplata)? Comprido specifically said that Eddie is an idiot and not an innovator. I understand that there are plenty of instructors who disapproveof MJ. I don't do drugs but I am not about to say that marijuana is a fake medicine like this tool, I know I am good at jiu jitsu and not because of anything other than hustle and muscle and mind my own freaking business. This whole butt hurt issue over techniques being tagged with names is ridonkulous. There are always different names for techniques whether its american football or jiu jitsu. Suck it up and quit being so sensitive.

I'm going to rethink my whole life after that video. He is a very powerful speaker with very convincing arguments. What were his arguments again? If u can't talk to a girl go dry hump some dudes? He knows some guys who arrest people for weed, so weed is bad? Or my favorite " what about the kids?". I don't think too many kids are getting caught smoking by their parents and blaming Eddie. I'm against weed and I even thought comprido came off as a fool in that video
Watching that video and reading the comments made my brain hurt. No disrespect to Comprido's Jiu Jitsu competition achievements but I always saw him as a kind of dumb jock figure. With his goofy ass colored hair and posing/kissing his medals in Arte Suave. Granted, He showed some cool moves and has trained with some awesome people but come up with a better argument rather then blatantly hating on Eddie.
Word for the wise! The more you can distance yourself emotionally in your argument and state actual facts rather then blanket statements; the more credibility you'll have. At least with the people who know what they are talking about. Blanket statements tend to rope in the sheep more, unfortunately.
