I don't want to take anything away from Shelby performance but when i see these mixed matches i wonder if both competitors are on a level playing field, and by that i mean if you were in the position of the guy would you go full blast against a girl in a competition the same way you would against a guy?
If there aren't enough women to make a division i rather they compete in the men's division then not at all. I think competition plays a big part in your evolution and everyone should be able to do it.
Do you have any experience or an opinion on the matter?
Again no disrespect towards Shelby or any other female competitor. I love watching women's fights whether they are jiu jitsu or mma.

I see no reason anyone should feel remorse for the competitor in these situations, both call forth an evaluation in a person, is the sport worth it? am I in this for the right reasons? Male or female I've consistently seen the same reactions from competitors, its foolish to place more meaning to one then the other.
To often I think we revert back to, well dad said never hit a girl. Well right.. but dad wasn't talking about a girl who put on boxing gloves and took a swing at your ass in the name of sport and competition. The sentiment comes from hitting a women out of anger or to hurt them, I don't ever act to hurt a competitor.
