I may be down, if not regularly at least every so often to switch up my training.
This would be awesome. I just did Grapplers Quest there and I couldn't believe how awesome Boston is. I would make it it out there to train for sure.

I'll chk with the harvard defense club that I've been trying to train at too, I'm sure I can garner some interest there as well. So let's say 2-3 more people roughly there to add to the count...

This is a great start. I'm glad that there's some guys who want 10P in Boston. I'll keep you all posted. As of right now, I have my five videos, I'm a paying member of the site, and I've sent out correspondence to Eddie, Herzog, and Kru John in Hartford. I'm working on trying to find a space where we can train, I already have at least one option available in Sudbury. Any input in that department would be helpful as well. Thank you all for expressing interest.

i sent Eddie an email like back in May ASKING about setting up a 10p in Mass (still waiting on a response) i wrote because CT is 3 hours from us and is the closest 10p to the 508.... i got plenty of places open in MY area looking for tenants of buildings and is alot safer than going to boston (plus boston has Kenny Florian, Gracie Barra just went in and the commute is god awful)
sudburry/boston is already cramped with other gyms, need to spread the love south to the plymouth area !!!!
Depending on how many of us do meet, the places I've been training in at Harvard we could potentially use too (right now they're relaxed about checking student cards and stuff, although down the road strolling in 10 people at a time might be a bit tougher). We'll see. I also spoke with another guy in Billerica MA (yeah I know a hike for alot) but he could potentially help us with places to train and connections to places too. Just throwing it out there......good guys I like the momentum that is building!...
Well a hotbox is much different than a moon, and second, it doesn't matter how many schools in the area there are, there isn't a 10P, so you're providing something different than anyone else. I think first priority at this point is finding somewhere convenient for everyone to make it to on a regular basis. Plus all the places you mentioned are gi jiu jitsu focused. I live in the city, and I can tell you that there are no nogi schools, just MMA or gi with some nogi. If you can find me a place that offers nogi BJJ classes 5 days a week then that's where I'd be training.Quote:

landon, i dont much about the boston schools you can practice at, but joe lauzons in bridgewater does some nogi stuff (i still gotta hit him up and see if i can get a roll with him sometime now that i got some fking cash)
Yeah I think both of our points is that we'd like to have a place to work on 10P techniques with a group of guys looking to do the same.
Just a little fyi. You will want your hotbox to be conveniently located for the majority of peeps. Example, my hb is a little over 30 mins away from me but its within 5 min of the majority of my guys. Also, look at where I am, dont worry about other gyms. Coach Herzog and Master Eddie have both said we are in an ocean full of sharks here in Miami. If any of yall have mats go anywhere you can. We started in a living room, think outside the box on this and you can make it work. Was a living room as good as a gym no, but we did get things going from there. It takes alot of work and dedication. The goal of an official hb is to become a moon.:cool:

Thanks guys for your support and input. Very much appreciated from someone who successfully has a hotbox running. I agree completely, like I said convenient location and just getting it going is first priority. I think it's easy for everyone to speculate and say do this or do that, but so far I'm the only one who has taken some real steps to put this together in terms of pulling together all the requirements to start it. Not to slander anyone else in any way, but actions speak loader than words, and you guys town in Miami are certainly making some noise!Quote:

Quick update, nothing set in stone yet but doing some hw on seeing about setting up a hotbox (or perhaps more) in the MA/Boston area (I know this topic keeps getting brought up on and off, hopefully this time it's for real). Will keep you posted...so Ronin's in the MA/NH/RI area be patient and keep studying the videos and MTS videos....the embers of hope are flickering potentially!!
