Rd 1 10-9 Degroot
Rd 2 10-9 Degroot
Rd 3 10-9 Oliver
29-28 Degroot
Ripped off Ari.....he fought a great fight did really well of his back, dominated the striking on the feet. I am not sure what the judges were watching to be honest and I am not trying to be subjective at all. Degroot by unanimous decision for me.
website gave me a trojan, cheers.
30-27 DeGroot. Are the Canadian MMA judges just mostly boxing judges like they are here in the USA? If so, that would be my most educated guess as to why they wouldn't give the beautiful guard work and sub attempts the due points that they deserve.
I had it 30-27 for Red. Aside from a couple takedowns, Oliver didn't have ANY offense in that fight.
May have missed out on points for not getting submission catches. In Japan I think he would have gotten points for all of the control he had from his back even without the catches. They probably look at pulling guard as being taken down and getting controlled. Too bad guy on top didnt need to punch that much, Degroot will have a lot more submission opportunities at pro level where they will have to strike more from the top more or get stood up. So in my head I would say split decision Degroot but judges have their own stuff they look for. I look at decisions like a dice roll.
It has nothing to do with grammar. One person can't form a split decision.
Im not paying any tickets from the literal police either. In my head there is a panel of judges.
I knew I should've sent my original answer post as a private message cuz I thought somebody somewhere would misunderstand me and I would have to explain myself somehow.
Red had that one in the bag. Oliver scored take downs but didnt capitalize on them. Red shoulda won. That samurai was siiiick!!!
In my eyes Red won, but I can understand why they didn't give it to him because of the takedowns, but that first round Red won BIG, that samurai was pure sickness and he pulled off pretty damn solid rubber guard too, Red is gonna make some big waves in the flyweight division :)
Honestly Ari, I think the judges just liked Oliver's ring announcer more than Red's...so they gave it to him :)
Red tomato clearly won that fight. At one point though, I started hearing what sounded like the mentally handicapped Satan calling the fight action. Please someone tell me that was part of the recording.
Red won 29-28!
Needs to work on Boxing. I don't care if "the Flying Tomato" is mainly a Jits fighter, that was not a Jiu-Jitsu, and he clearly showed his lack of skill with his hands and feet in that fight. If you want to be a successful MMA fighter he need to be more well-rounded in all styles, rather than juts being a good Jiu-Jitsu fighter...... Just my two cents.
Red's stand up looks like its come a long way since his last mma fight that I watched. Much better foot work, hands, and head movement. Of course his jits is better, but its great to watch someone progress into a more well rounded fighter. Congrats Red on another victory (in our book anyway.)
I was impressed with Red's stand up, it's not where it needs to be but it's way better than I expected :)
Fact is, Red is out there competing! Good work. Your are building your MMA skills foundation. Dont worry about the judges :)
Ari- good work!

Keep fighting the good fight, good work guys
