Combat Jiu Jitsu has gotten the preliminary OK by CAMO (California Amateur MMA Organization)
Me and Turi Altavilla, head of UofMMA are heading up a new style of competition jiu jitsu. It's just like ADCC but with punches allowed on the ground.
Imagine Marcelo vs Kron in a rematch with punches allowed on the ground. Imagine Cobrina vs Glover with punches on the ground. Sick right? It's coming..... :)

Personally, I like the idea. I like ground fighting and am not a fan
of standup...when it involves me. Any idea for dates or more details?

Combat jiu jitsu? I already like this.
This sounds wonderful. It'll help keep people more honest in the self defense part of jits, which gets sacrificed a little when there is no striking allowed.
how will it start? on the knees? can someone stand to pass? or one knee on the ground at all thymes?
Yeah, would love to know the format. Rule list anywhere?

Thats awesome....with this type of sport evolving, we should see more BJJ guys doing good in MMA...i seen some crumble cause they are not used to getting pounded in the face while attempting submissions and so on.

Eddie, i take it the matches would start standing but with no strikes, then strikes will be allowed when the fight hits the mat?

Whats the difference between MMA and this? No striking on the feet?
Is this like a transitional step to MMA?

I just like to make Jiu Jitsu :). I dont want to have to worry about getting punched in the face while im trying to sweep someone haha

Is this a stand alone type of tournament? Or is it included like gi, no gi, combat bjj, pancration?
Can you do those little gracie liver kicks when your opponent is in your guard or when you have his back to help sink in chokes?
This will help 10th planet guys stand out above everyone else in bjj tournaments.
