Awesome to hear you're getting more flexible PJ!
I couldn't do a lotus for the longest time and then I came across this and everything changed.

Good luck with everything!
You stretched? GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! This is going to revolutionize everything!
Hey PJ, thanks for sharing these tips. They may sound straight-forward, but sometimes improving flexibility seems like such a difficult process that I begin to doubt the efficacy of those three simple concepts you mentioned:
1) Stretch hot
2) Stretch often
3) Try to use rubber guard in sparring
I will also give ballistic stretching a try now, seeing as how it doesn't sound dangerous the way you describe it.
The big problem I have is stretching every day. Whenever I go to class, I have no problem taking 15 minutes afterwards to stretch, but it's hard to motivate myself when I haven't worked out.
careful with the knees
That's PNF stretching! :D I haven't seen a vid like this of it, but I've been doing this for a while and it works wonders! I learned it from a guy I worked with at Wilford Hall at Lackland AFB years ago; I've never seen a video of someone doing it right. I suppose I've never really LOOKED for one either, but...
Thanks for posting COMRADE! :D
Thanks for all the tips PJ and congrats on the great flexibility.
I am much smaller than you and i am nowhere near your level of flexibility. I will try your tips for the next months.
Thanks again for sharing your personal experience!
