I had a consultation about a couple of years ago and they told me that I couldn't lift weights for a month and I couldn't spar for 2 months! So I didn't get it done :p
I want it done though, I'm planning on going for another consultation over xmas, hopefully the recovery time (and price, 3k!) has gone down
I had prk done back in February. It's a form of laser surgery in which they cut straight into your eye. It's more painful and the recovery time is longer. If you ever want to do mma, you can't have lasik, since it leaves a flap. Most states, including mine, will not approve you to fight if they know you have had lasik.
I took 6 weeks off from rolling and 2 months off from sparring. I only took 2 weeks off cardio and drilling, so it wasn't too bad.
There's an easier solution! Contact lenses!
Not your regular contacts those ones reshape your eyes while you're sleeping. Take them off when you wake up and bam! Perfect vision!
My optometrist talked to me about them and recommended it over surgery. Apparently the surgery doesn't Correct your eyesight permanently and/or properly
I had a consultation with my optometrist about getting lasik. I'm wrestling out at UNLV a bit and boxing but my doctor said I could do both in a couple of weeks.
I'm getting advanced waterfront lasik in feb now! 2 weeks off weightlifting and 4 weeks off sparring :)
I've never heard of this. I had Lasik, and everything is fine. It was worth it for sure. You’re supposed to take a month off. Try to time it with an injury :)Quote:

I had my laser eye surgery on Monday! Wavefront lasik, its prety amazing. I had to sit in the dark with sunglasses on for the rest of Monday, everything was blindingly bright but I woke up on Tuesday and I could see! I had my eye check up and I have better than 20 20 vision in both eyes! My prescription was -5 in both eyes so im pretty pleased! Apparently my eyes will continue improving for the next month :) We must have got this technology from aliens fo sho
