Just to elaborate on the favorite submissions thread, i'm really looking for a favorite combination that leads to a submission, starting from anywhere, really. For example:
My favorite combo is invisible collar to jiu claw to triangle.

rg is tough to get on someone when they know your hunting for it. I like to fake a kimura to the right then overhook the left when they react to it. Then you can start down any of your 3 rg paths from newyork. I like the carni. Also with the overhook I'll drive his head up with my free elbow to move into lockdown to ec or butterfly sweep (depending on how they react when you shrimp out)
I like to fake like I'm going for the slow triangle except when I get my knee on the arm I bait the guy into turning into his trapped arm and I slap on a belly down armbar on his non trapped arm.
100 percent to ninja choke
hip bump FAKE sweep to triangle...but i got plenty of others
I love my pyramid setup, the only thing I can't setup from there is leg locks lol!
Meathook->rubix cube->puppet master
only help i can offer you will for leglocks is unless you go inverted gaurd OR pyramid to rubix cube to sweep, THEN dive on a leg (kneebar i think is first option) or from pyramid to rubix you can underhook his/her left side, swing their arm over your head EXPOSING THEIR BACK then either backmount and diving for a leg (toe hold first option)
Kimura fake to Triangle
I thought people has forgotten about it until Jason McDonald pulled it off in his last fight :D
Dutch Rudder to triangle all day
never heard of that before? interested in seeing what it looks like!
demian maia taught me this bait switch its simple and you got a 50 50 on pulling it off either theyre really good and expect it and block it, or they think THIS IS TOO BASIC ITLL NEVER WORK and you hit them with it and get the tapQuote:

Fake guillotine to 100%
Also, Gangsta lean to slow triangle
I like to sweep with Old School
then either:
1) pass with the sweep to side-control and finish with a kimura from north south.
or
2) Get cought in half gaurd an pass straight to mount. (dunno what the pass is called, i first get head and arm control to keep his shoulders on the mat, then reach back and push my opponents knee's open so my own can slide through to mount.)
and finish with the mounted triangle/armbar off the slo-triangle.
in particular, I'v been having a lot of sucsess with the mounted triangle-armbar recently, but as i'm still a whitebelt i try to scrap everything and start from scratch (as far as finishes is concerned) to get new techniques down every 2 weeks or so. i think this is the best way to learn. i'm thinking to focus on the north-south choke, taking the back and controling my opponet better in my rubber guard over the next few weeks.
Then sometime over the summer once i'v devoloped better top control, i'm gonna take couple of weeks where i'm just going to guillitene everything from everywhere.
i would double up if thats what your planning on, like, one week is all offensive top position transitions and finishes next week you rotate out with only defensive attacks/transitions, sub counters / one sub from every position ... everyone puts most effort into OFFENSE only, gotta VERSIFY that and work on the defensive side.... a sick defense is just as equal as a sick offense ;D
i have NO wrestling so in order to reach the top position i have to work somthing from the bottom. I have become very good at escaping mount and regaining half guard.
I get DESTROYED from side control though and my recent "project" been working to try and improve on that. I'v been getting Chris Herzog's Ghost escape (not consistantly, but much more frequently than anything else) and i'v been watching some marcello garcia video's and picked up from points from that.
SWEEPS HOMIE!!!!
wrestling is basically a FAILSAFE of keeping you aware of where you are its great to have but technique beats it everytime...
if your still brand new to BJJ your doing an AWESOME job!!!!
juijitsu is SUCH a technical practice theres no way to master it in a day just too much to learn in one sitting, yeah principals can be used here and there but everything is ALWAYS different all the time its more of who learned more techniques and who can apply them
you'll get there homie, marcello IS PIMPPPPPPPPPPPPP definatly a great place to start!
damn straight it is!!! its almost as manly as this song!Quote:
