I've always had a hunch that there are a growing number of people who would be willing to give jiu-jitsu a try if only they had a no-gi school near them. This is only a hunch, but I base it on the growing interest in MMA, and the decline of traditional martial arts schools. BJJ may not be a TMA per se, but the gi definitely makes it look like a TMA, and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of potential grapplers are put off by the kimono.
