Royler receives the Red & Black Belt
Posted on January 13, 2012 by gracielegacy
Today, our teacher, friend, mentor and leader, Royler Gracie, received his 7th degree on his black belt. *This made him one of the youngest Red & Black Belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, ever.
We congratulate Royler on his accomplishment. *He received the belt from his brothers, Rickson & Rolker Gracie, and in front of many of his close friends and long time students. *This belt represents not only an unparalleled dedication to his family’s art, but also a major transition in Royler’s life as a master of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

I have Royler's BJJ Submission Grappling Techniques No-Gi book
which is excellent. Also have his instructionals. Wish he would make
instructionals to go along with his book like Eddie Bravo has done.
I met Robin Gracie one time at the Gracie Academy in Torrance.
He looks just like Royler. Robin has a B.J.J. Academy in Barcelona,
Spain. He speaks no English only Spanish, French and of course
Portuguese.

Royler is an all-time hero! Congratulations! :)

Somebody actually wrote this:
"How did Eddie Bravo beat Royler Gracie?
What kind of guard does he use?"
"I saw this on youtube and couldn't believe it. Eddie Bravo looks like a completely average joe. You figure the average golfer looks more athletic than Eddie Bravo yet he beat a great grappler in Royler Gracie. Anyone seen the footage and understand how he did it. He won by submission but basically controlled Royler with his weird style guard the whole fight. I don't understand the guard he uses but it looks like you need to be ultra-flexible to use it. He moves his legs like they
were his arms. Anyone have any insight into this style?"
