What are some good ones? and I'm talking about legit back-firing.
Like when Bisping said the only thing Henderson had going for him was his big right hand you can see a mile away, then got knocked out with a big right hand he didnt see a mile away.
Or when Hardy said he was gunna knock out Condit with a left hook, threw it, and got knocked out by Condits left hook.

Remember when Frankie Lester was bragging about how he was going to knock James Wilks' teeth out on season 9 of the ultimate fighter. Then in their fight James knocked out Frankies front 4 teeth LOL. :-)

when keith jardine fought houston alexander keith complained that he had to fight a new guy and houston has nothing to offer him and doesnt deserve to fight him...keith got kod so hard when he fell face first his mouth piece bounced out across the cage haha

How did he eat those words. Anderson is still ducking him and anderson did get out striked and ponded and beat through chaels sheer tenacity that fight. The fact that he wrapped his legs around his head for 8 seconds doesnt mean he's tougher.

Well in my humble opinion, the fact that Silva got his face and body pounded for over 20 minutes vs the fact that Sonnen tapped from Silva putting his legs around Sonnen's head for 8 seconds makes Silva tougher.
I can see that what Silva is saying about Sonnen not deserving another shot, but the fact that the fight was so one sided for so long would make a rematch incredibly interesting. I wanna see it happen.

When Tito said he was going to "spank" randy couture.. And then randy proceeded to fold him in half and literally spank him in front of everyone during the fight..

(Honorable mention: James Toney vs Randy Couture about how as a "real" boxer James was going to kill anyone he fought.. Then loses the fight without landing a shot.)

Are you really a blue belt? Do you know what jiu jitsu, submission or triangle means? Anderson Silva could have kill, let me re-write that [KILL] Chael Sonnen and break his arm for good measure. That's what triangle's do, they cut oxygen to the brain by way of closing the trachea and the veins around the neck. A bit too long in a triangle, you pass out, much longer than that, you die. That is the reason why Chael tapped. If that leg wrapping was that simple, why did Chael not ride it out till the end of the round? Chael was not even tough enough to fight the triangle/armbar until his arm broke or he passed out.

Umm, a triangle does not shut off oxygen to the brain or effect the trachea in any way. Your trachea does not deliver oxygen to your brain it is the airway passage to your lungs. I know a triangle doesn't mess with the trachea but if it doesn't stop oxygen (via the bloodstream) to the brain how does it choke you?

Cody, the triangle doesn't completely stop oxygen flow to the brain, it just restricts it. The carotid arteries do give oxygenated blood to the brain. That's why pulling the head down to restrict the airway alongside the restriction of blood will render your opponent unconscious, and that's why some people can stay in triangles as long as they still have that airflow and posture.

Not really pulling down on the head increases carotid pressure maximizing the effectiveness of the choke. A strong blood choke can put you out in less than 10 sec. But you can last over a minute with complete airway restriction. Think about it how long can you hold your breath?

True Chael almost won - wait, almost - what does that prove? Nothing, that's what. I don't think Anderson just "wrapped his legs around his head"...he was choking the life out of Chael "Small Ball" Sonnen who then quit to avoid going to sleep. In a caveman style fight, Anderson would have left the choke on for another 3 minutes & left a corpse on the ground. I think that qualifies Anderson as tougher. It's not about who almost wins, its about who wins. Chael lost - period. Especially when you consider Chael "Small Ball" Sonnen was cheating & Anderson was injured.

Anderson isn't ducking, he knows Chael is a tough fight but wants to be 100% for a rematch, nothing wrong with that. That will be a beating I'm looking forward to watching.

Well my knowledge comes from a Gracie blackbelt who taught me the triagle choke many years ago. I was instructed that in order to finish the choke (not the ryan hall way, i know he does it differently and it is very effective and it feels like your head is about the pop, and actually that is how I finish mine in these days), to scoot back with my hands as soon as I have the triangle locked to break the posture of the opponent and pull on the head. Pulling on the head, if done correctly, is really forcing the chin of your opponent to his neck, combined with the rest of the squeeze from the triangle this effectively closes the airway effectively becoming an air and a blood choke at the same time. A lot of new jiujitsu players just tap to the fact that they cannot inhale anymore. People who are higher levels keep their composure allthough the airway is closed but still try to fight with the remaning oxygen in the blood, as the blood choke sets in and the oxygen levels in the brain start to drop you start to pass out and thats where highger level guys tap or just fight till they go to sleep. This is how it was expalined to me, I applied it in this manner and my airway was closed everytime somebody applied a triangle to me in the way described above. My source is a Gracie BlackBelt. If you accept him as a credible source then I do know what I am talking about.
I am not saying this is the best or only way to finish triangles, all I am saying is that pushing the chin down does close the airway.

Of course pulling on the head is an effective way to finish. But like I explained in a previous post its do to added pressure on the carotid arteries not shutting off your airway. Most instructors teach to align your elbow with your opponents chin when applying the rear naked choke, effectively creating space for your airway but putting your for arm and bicep in a better position to squeeze the carotid arteries. I can show you a red and black belt teaching it that way!(as if it really matters) So if your black belt told you that's the effective way to finish the choke he's right but if he told you its because it shuts off the air way he's wrong. A black belt in bjj doesn't equal a black belt in anatomy. Having a drivers license doesn't mean you know how the car works just how to drive it.
