I've never fought in MMA so my opinion is pretty much invalid, but I think they should do away with that rule. It's not cool when guys play that game. Knees on the ground, ok. But fingertips on the ground and you're considered a grounded opponent? IDK about how fair that is.

I agree with the rule as it was intended, to stop people getting kneed to death when turtled up.
If a jackass is exploiting the rule, fuck him. Should be the refs judgement on weather it was a legal blow, not a zero tolerance rule.
DQed for a win is pretty gay. maybe a dq for a no contest. i guess taking out soccer kicks and knees to people that are grounded takes away the brutal aspect of mma for safety and all that. But, when idiots keep playing this crouching monkey stance when walking out so they hope they don't get kicked, they can just go out there get KO'd or risk getting ko'd and stack up on a cheap win. that cheap win shouldn't have counted.
Fingertips on the ground isn't exactly turtled up. I don't mind the rule if a guy is on one knee, but I don't get how fingertips on the ground equal a grounded opponent.Quote:
