thanks jay, you're the best
dang i cant wait to watch this when i get home
Very cool
Around 2:50 of the match between Justin Rader and Samuel Braga, Justin hits an awesome entry into the truck off the baby wipe pass. Brilliant! :)
In the Rader vs Hall video, I hate how Rader won on a two point take down when Hall had about 35-50 different leg lock attempts and Rader didn't have one single solid submission attempt that I could recognize, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
I was gutted for Ryan he dominated and still lost.
Honestly I wasn't watching it with sound and I didn't know where the points came from until I reviewed it, shouldn't have been a takedown imo, Hall kinda stood up to try and get his back but failed and then just kinda sat back down. But that's the points game for you.
There's something to be said about Rader's leg lock escaping ability! Beautiful!
Of course Rader wouldn't fair well in a Blackbelt Submission only Tournament! His game is totally based on points. He's perfect for IBJJF tournaments.
I think Rader deserved to win. Ryan Hall absolutely refused to take part in the standup, which is a big part of Rader's game, but Rader was able to deal with Hall where he was best.
Can someone put every match up on this forum separately??
Although I've been training for years, when I watch a jiu jitsu tournament, I feel like a confused wife who has no idea what the rules are of the sport she's being forced to watch. I spend the whole time going, "who's winning?" "what's this guy trying to do?" "what just happened?". I totally don't understand why all the Ryan Hall leg locks didn't add up to a point somewhere along the way.
I don't compete and I find watching the average JJ tournament really boring, but I think submission only tournaments are definitely the way to go.
Was i trippin or did Denny throw up the gang sign during his match?
Just to bump this back up, finally seen the Radar/Braga match and the truck entry from the underpass
Radar had him, Braga just gutted it out and what a switch when he got the armbar on Radar, the entry was super slick and quick as hell, I wonder how much Braga could have stood the pain if Radar out the foot behind the ankle, or was the 1 leg with the RNC grip already the most pressue?

Starts about at 2:50. great battle
Denny's match with Wilson was awesome. I know the score was lopsided but it was an entertaining match on both sides. The mount transition in the beginning was slick and the escape was awesome from Denny. Overall I think it was Wilson's passing that helped him so much. and awesome positions from Denny.
