Protect yourself at all times or dirty or both?

didnt really look controversial to me.
Obv there's no rule about this, but from what I've seen u're supposed to give them least a second to pull back-she basically touched then wound up (although that wasn't the hit that knocked her down).
that's cheap, sure she technically won the match fair and square, but shit like that makes me lose respect for a fighter :/
I wish touching gloves was banned entirely. It doesn't make sense. The ref brings both fighters to the center of the ring where they touch gloves before the fight. Then the fight begins and the fighters touch gloves again?!!??! Makes no sense to me.
I like the old days when Royce Gracie would just go for the kill right at the bell.
Lets touch gloves, and by the way here is my range. Im not a fan.
Exactly on the range comment. Why give away your range. When your inside the cage never let ur guard down
this is why i think they should save glove touching, hugging, and all that other shit for the end of the fight or not do it at all
Been seeing a lot more spinning kicks and surprise stacks off of the unnecessary glove touch in the past couple years. after the bell rings they might come at you with finger jabs to the eyes. You never know
glove touching is optional and there are no rules governing it. every show i judge has a different view of it, but the thing they all have in common is that there are no rules about how to, when to, or what happens when they actually engage in it. plus theres the universal understanding that once u touch its game on. just because these other fighters like to break after the gloves touch doesnt mean thats the rule ya know? she shouldve been ready, and the fact that she got knocked out didnt really have to do with the glove touch since she clearly engaged and was knocked out in the clinch. imo its just some chick and her team getting pissed cuz the got caught sleepin. just sayin
When you go up to the ref he usually makes the fighters touch gloves before sending them in their corners...
I think it's a bit unnecessary to do it again and you shouldn't be bitching about it if you get caught.
Dirty yeah kinda, illegal no
touching gloves again. then backing up and then start fighting...i don't like it. you're in a cage fight. respect, honor, ok, but you're still in a fight. i love when they go at it from the get go. go for a possible record ko.
Dirtydirty. I say dont do it. I got sucker punched my second fight. The guy seemed nice too. He kept talking to me before the fight. Seemed like a cool dude. I dont think you see it as much in pros, but obviously it still happens.
Ya that's a dick move...It may not be illegal but you def lose respect...
way dirty and disresptful. word gets out that you do that kinda crap and you soon find it difficult to get on any legit promotors fight card. Just wave of the dam glove touch if you want to get to the fighting.
very lame, cheap, no respect...
I didnt even see her touch. If you are walking to the center of the ring with your hand out like a good sport and your angry opponent is moving towards you hands cocked and chin down, you might want to remember that a fight just started. Also after the initial barage, she could have jumped out, but no she stayed swingin in the pocket and ate the hook.
Dirty but if its not illegal whats the big deal? 4oz gloves hurt! Its a fist fight so be friends after not before and not during.
Always protect yourself but I def lose some respect for a fighter that gets in that cheap shot
The only time I think it's dirty is when you offer to touch gloves and then sucker punch.
The "sucker-punch" didn't knock her out, so what's the argument? If anything, the chick that got swarmed on should've shot in on a takedown and took advantage of all that aggresive upper body coming at her. Live and you learn.
Exactly, this isn't the first time it's happened. Yes, it's "dirty." But everyone should know that, and if I was cornering a fighter, I'd say, touch gloves if you want, but always be ready just in case they sucker punch. No fighter...ever....should get caught by a sucker punch after a glove touch from being unprepared IMO. Some competitors fight dirty regardless of the sport.
Case in point....Elizabeth Lambert.

I am not a big fan of glove touching either, sometimes even in the second or third round a fighter wants to just come out of his corner and storm the other guy or girl in this case, the cautious counter striker offers the glove touch so he wont be bull rushed and has time to set up and start circling, most of the time the guy who wants to rush in gives in to the glove touch out of respect or fear of being called a cheap fighter and loses that moment that he could have done what Boetsch did to Okami. I think it is the same thing as holding on to your opponent in boxing to clear your head.
I only touch gloves in the beginning of the third. If the fight goes that long then my opponent has my respech.
