Congrats!!! Looks like a great place to learn some serious Jiu jitsu! Dam...hour and half away! So close yet so far away!
My goal Jui Jitsu is to get a blue belt from 10th planet. I am realistic and I like to set my goals low.
edit: no disrespect to any blue belts.
Congrats everyone
Wow. Scott looks amazing in those clips. My ankle started to hurt just watching him go. Congrats.
congrats chris and team
well done team another new batch of killers :) good job chris
well done ;)
awesome job chris. congrats to those two for their hard work, that one kid is a heel hooking machine. he learn those from you?
What did Scott's parents do to him to make him hate heels so goddamn much?
thanks everyone. I got good at heel hooks because I got tired of getting hit with them from my striking coach (Wally MacDonald). Herzog showed me how to do them correctly from all positions. It took me about 2 years to get good at them.
He did a helluva job

Problem with the heel hooks is that they are hardly ever useable in tournaments over here. A blue belt (not for long) from my gym, Will Gould, wrecks house with them, and has shown me a few nice tips.
I really like leg locks, but according to the IBJJF rules, they aren't acceptable at blue belt at all, only the straight ankle lock is allowed at purple belt, and then everything at brown except for heel hooks. Problem is, a lot of comps here use those rules.
Looking forward to meeting you.
