Thats a scary thought. I Think he will do well doubt he will win gold buf deffo have a good result
Trying to pull a Mark Kerr
Its funny how you sub a guy who has no cardio or a ground game in your last fight and you get invited to the 2011 abudabi because youre the biggest star in the biggest fighting organization in the world. I say he gets subbed in the first 4 minutes of his first fight.
Yea ! He will be way out of his depth technically, ADCC should take advantage of the new "Giant Antelope" being fed to the lions, And broadcast that shit on tv to get more fans
Brock will play the Mark Kerr game. Takedown too win...by points....that's all he's got! Oh yeah....and stall!
Spike tv, just said October is Brocktober. I love Brock. For someone to be that huge, athletic and still be angry as fuck is the stuff dreams are made of.
I didn't think UFC lets you compete in other organizations; aren't they really proprietary? That was a sticking point for Fedor (sambo) from my understanding. Anyway he'll get his ass worked, but if it's true (I don't think it is) maybe he's on the way to being a real Champion (one whose game isn't Swiss cheese.)
Nah, they do, I'm pretty sure. I've seen Diego Sanchez in it, and quite a few other UFC guys whom I can't remember right now!
UFC told GSP he could wrestle in the olympics....if he could make the Canadian team! There's more to wrestling than takedowns...I can't see him pinning anyone....I'm sure GSP doesn't train that aspect of wrestling!
I hope Barnett goes also and smashes him...and smashes Mir.
That would please me a great deal.
I think Brock will do better than people think though.
Bruce R, I treasure your friendship TOO.
I also agree
Brock is no slouch on the ground. It's just popular to hate on him. Truth is, he is technically sound in his wrestling. And although strength is not the answer in Jiu Jitsu, it sure does help when you are insanely strong in a timed match.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Brock was around Purple level in jiu jitsu.
Brock is very high level wrestler and a freak of nature way more than mark kerr. Kerr dominated in no gi tournaments and yes he got many subs as well. He didnt just stall. Brock is learning more each day and think he would do very very well. Try pulling half guard on that beast and see if you can get to the dog fight ha. No thanks. Be open minded if he wants to try fuck it let him. That would take some balls on his part!!!!!
It's funny, all my friends thought that I would hate Lesnar because I'm a big MMA fan. I actually have tons of respect for the dude and his ground skills are legit. I hate pro-wrestling and much of the size difference and fighting style makes his game sort of unrelatable to me but otherwise, I don't get why the dude gets so much hate.
Mark Kerr was 13-1 in no-gi tournaments...11 wins by points (takedowns) 2 submission wins (Josh Barnett by kimura). Brock is not going to submit a high level Bjj blackbelt...he will use his wrestling and size to his advantage. I understand marking out to somebody but please....Brock gets by with freak size and wrestling....Randy Couture has more skill than Brock but he couldn't match up with the size. Yes, Brock is trying to get better in all aspects...but he's champion because of his freak size and Carwin gassing out!!!
Shane doesn't have a ground game? You might want to check on that. He has more than he has shown in the UFC. As far as Lesnar's invite...I'm not sure why, other than for publicity. I thought it was based on other grappling events, but I don't know of any Lesnar has been in recently.
Carwin and Brock are the same size, as was Mir in their last fight. I literally haven't seen Brock execute a technique that was only achieved due to his size. His technique is world class and his half guard work was highly intelligent, technical, and custom made to beat Mir.
I say Props to Brock for stepping up and going to the toughest tournament in the world. If he gets beat or wins what does it matter. Its another high level fighter in the tournament. People should be stepping up to face him to see if they can stop his takedowns and submit him.
Marcello via R N C!!!
Take away striking and big slams and Brock will be in a new world. Also no cage to lean on and use to work takedowns. Ill watch. That sub on Carwin was because Carwin gassed he didnt even defend. I would pay mad money to see Marcelo choke out Brock.
There is no way any one is gana keep brock in new york, even get there for that mater. Back neck and shoulders are way to big. People always talk about his weight. Its not the weight is the sher size and power of his body and bones. He snap the knee.a win is a win is a win dosnt mater how you did it. Just get the w!!!! People talk lots but have never rolled him latly. Talk is cheap!!!!!!!!!!
Brock"s boxing is not world class. Brock's Mauy thai is not world class. Brock's jiu jitsu is not world class. Brock is a d1 NCAA wrestling champ not world class Randy Couture took him down pretty easy (even with the weight difference). Brock beat Mir with size, wrestling, and strategy. Who's going to get that freak off them. Carwin would have won if he didn't gas! Brock has some technique, but not world class. Again Brock gets by with freak size and wrestling....I would love to know how much he weighs before he steps into that octagon. Cain V. has more skill than Brock....but can he deal with that freak size?
hell yea ! That's a Giant Human being. If he jumps in "Absolute" that could be some crazy shit. But I seriously think the skill level is far to "High" for him. But the time limit would work in his favor. It will take A " Wicked Guard " to finish him. My Money is on Roger Gracie
Roger Gracie!
Roger gracie is a bad man fo sho!!!!
since brock can afford to hire about any trainer he could ever desire,,and has a few months to train..who knows what the hell could happen
Dude a real ? How hard do you think it be to put him in or control from, high guard, new yorK or chill dog ?with his size speed and base. You know he eather be smashing down on you with chest to chest or pushing on your lower rib cage and looking at the sky.
I believe Comprido said Lesnar is a purple belt, and that was some time ago as well.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4GA-...layer_embedded
Little bit of video of Lesnar working his ground game.
Without striking he might have trouble but his power is unmatched. Wonder if Roger can tap him
