Who needs a guard dog when you could have a minotaur. Now that I think about it, couldnt they mix a human, cat, and a chameleon to make the talking cat in alice in wonderland or rabbits that lay eggs.

That wouldn't work tho. You're sweat is use to regulate your body temperature. So unless it's like the goat milk and your sweat carries the protein for the spider silk then it should work in theory.
