i had a back issue for years but ignored it, when I started training jj I decided to get it sorted. I visited a chiro and was told I had lumbar hyper lordosis, lateral pelvic tilt and anterior pelvic tilt. after about 7 sessions it was much better, I find stretching and jiu jitsu actually helps. I also go in for a "tune up" every month. a decent chiropractor is definitely worth the money.
My best friend's dad is my chiropractor and also trained jj on and off for a few years (he made a horrified face when I showed him the twister). His biggest thing is keeping up with adjustments and really emphasizes developing hamstring flexibility to prevent lower back issues. I've definitely noticed my chronic stiff neck has been way less common since I started making 2 trips to the chiro every week.
Chiropractor once a week and yoga sess throughout the week keeps me on the mats
