Please bring 10th Planet BJJ to NYC!

The NYC nogi bjj scene is horrible. There is no gym that even offers nogi classes more than 2 nights a week. And none of them teach the 10th planet system, which is far superior to traditional nogi bjj. How can I live in the biggest city in the world and be faced with this dilemma? Please Eddie, establish a gym in NYC and it will pay huge dividends, I assure you. You will siphon off a large percentage of the students from the 10 or so schools in NYC, because students want to evolve. Please make my dream come true. Thanks!

Thanks for the promo Charlemagne, but Rochester is about 6 hours away from NYC. I'd say, start a hotbox reachnick2012. Network on message boards and see who in the city would be down to start a hotbox.

Thanks for the advice. I don't see what the impediment to opening a gym up in NYC is though. There's a lot less populous places with a 10th planet gym (st. louis, el paso, chicago, sherman?!, portland, etc...). The students are here, the demand is here, but the gym is not...It just seems like a huge wasted opportunity to me, but maybe there is some hidden logic behind the choice to stay out of NYC that i'm not privy to.

I understand you wanting more no gi time but I would where a tutu and makeup to train with that guy and I have to believe he is doing more than two nights a week no gi.

Eddie owns and operates one school. Who do you think is going to teach at the NY school? Should he fly back and fourth between the two schools?

Master Eddie isn't the one who builds the gyms. It's local places that set up an affiliate. The opportunity is there, but no one is setting one up.

It's true. I'd love a chance to train under Marcelo. But $5 a month is a good deal to learn things from the man himself.

As for Marcelo, he's great and all but I'm into the whole 10th planet, rubber guard, come to class blazed mentality. That's fun.

Well if that's the case you should be talking to them not Eddie But I highly doubt you can give me one name of somebody you know who lives in NYC and is either ranked under Eddie or someone that has trained with Eddie who he has certified to teach the 10th planet system

Disclaimer: I can think of one guy who might be in that position but I doubt "reachnick2010" knows who I'm talking about.

I don't get why people think I'm trolling when I'm completely serious, and why people keep misreading my posts.

Of course I want to rubber guard high man, that's really all I want to do after work, then grab some dinner, go home and wind down for the night. I don't see what's wrong with that.

NYC has a horrible rubber guard oriented nogi bjj community. I don't know any schools who focus on rubber guard, and at marcelos u get 12 classes a month for $220, at $18 a class, and they probably wouldn't like it if u came to class blazed.

I will second Jon here, and also if u don't already have them get both of Eddie's books on the RG and Twister and from there get whatever mat time you can....

Just come on out to sunny California. Rent an apartment right next
to 10th Planet Headquarters. Bring your video camera. Train and film
all you classes. In 6 months with mucho training and 100's of hours
of video lessons you'll be ready to open a 10th Planet school in New
York. This is what Ken and Frank Shamrock did with Gokor. People
do this at the Gracie Academy all the time. Get Eddie's instructionals
and all his books.
