these have been in the system for a while...it was really interesting to see them used at such a high level with such a high success rate though
It looks like a fun recounter for an x-guard entry i'm using. I usually grab behind their knee, my shin inside of their leg and then hit the x or single leg x position. Once they know that entry they keep their foot to the outside of my shin and setup a knee cut pass. This seems applicable.
Big fan of the Calf Slice. Becoming an everyday finish at our gym
Love it. I'd want to finish with a gable grip though. And I'd want to finish that rolling calf crank by gripping the toes instead of the ankle. Zog teachings die hard.
EDIT: also, don't use two hands to grip the ankle in the rolling calf crank. You can get arm barred. Watch Justin Rader vs. Samuel Braga. I'm also an advocate of stomping on your own heel instead of triangling your legs. Again, Zog teachings die hard.
Shouldnt grab the shin, should grab toes ... if you can put your foot in a"boot"then its easier to straighten the leg ...
