how is he stopping his leg(s) from being hooked? Just one leg, or both?

When you go to pull your arm out and hook the leg he moves it away so you can't grab it. So I guess opposite side leg from whichever arm you're attacking.

try to get to the other (far) leg. If he's posting out on the closer one so you can't reach it then the other leg probably isn't mobile. The "judo toss" as i think Eddie calls it is even easier for me if I can get that far leg. Don't need to dig really deep and grab it, just put the back of your forearm on the outside of the leg to block it and give him a toss.

If he's only defending one, you can hook the other and go belly down with the arm bar. Downside is you won't get into spiderweb, but you can still finish. .

I have a hard time swimming from that position. If they just continue to sit there and do not turn the corner to defend , I just attack the armbar. That sometimes forces them to give me the leg , if they are strong and can't defend without turning the corner , either stuff the arm for a triangle or just dive hard for the leg
