Where did he learn it? Has he trained with Eddie? That might have been the most clear and prolonged example of the rubber guard path in MMA... he went through mission control, zombie, kung fu move, chill dog, crackhead control, basically had that gogo locked up... pretty awesome. Too bad he couldn't get the sub. Still an admirable representation of 10th planet in my opinion.
Mike an I have been training 10th Planet for a while. Nothing but books dvd etc. Awesome showing for my boys UFC Debut with ten days notice. He reps hard in Chicago Big Up to Mikey. Thanks For the support.

I dont think he has anyone at the gym hes at that plays rubber guard. I left a while ago to pursue other avenues. But either way he repped. I did love Rogan's explanations of the positions and names. A lot of publicity for the 10th Planet Family. Awesome stuff.
if his hips were so underneath the other guy's, would he have had a better time? like if he used the foot on the hip to shoulder crawl backwards to get his hips in better position

I was like a 5 year old in a candy store when i saw him use RG , but those leg kicks he took were deadly. I felt his pain. I just feel like he didnt squeeze enough to keep the guy locked in. IMO everything else looked awsome

It seems like there were a few times where he could he switched sides (rescue dog) rather than just fighting with his opponents head.
yeh, definately i thought so too. Definately a good showing for 10th planet but from my novice eyes it seemed once he did't get the zombie or his gogo plata he ssemed a little lost in the mix of battle. Rescue dog was definately there and i would have liked a pump or too for an armbar, as well as utilizing the basic jiu claw path. But still good to see in the UFC.Quote:

I'm thinking this guy's flexible enought to just underhook the right arm and go for the straight jacket, but then again that's gotta be tough to hold onto in MMA gloves.
It was a real gutsy performance on short notice by Mike, and hope the UFC can see his potential and gives him another shot

I don't mean to be nitpicky....but I will. He never actually "zombied" He got free new york twice and tried to zombie the third time, but never got it. He didn't really kung fu move either......I know its semantics, but......
Got off the phone with Mike a while ago and he will be making trips out to HQ. So im sure Eddie and the rest of the guys will show him. And he told me his leg was jacked from the first round and was struggling with his guard. He believes in the sytem so after a couple of trips to HQ im positive you guys will see a different Lullo.
Yeah, he hit me up today, he's def gonna make some trips to hq, all he needs is a couple tweaks here and there and his rubber guard will be golden. He already has it down good enough to avoid getting smashed on his back, so his clinch must be pretty damn good :)Quote:

The second guy that Brian Stuebner(10th Planet Springfield Instructor) goes against is Mike. Mike ended up finishing 3rd.
Mike Lullo is an awesome guy. I recently started training at MTC due to a withdrawal from the university of illinois urbana-champaign where I was studying accountancy. He is the nicest person and when I started training there I didn't even know that he was just in a UFC fight, but I have to say he always has an upbeat personality and loves jiujitsu. You can say he was goin for "this" or "that" but really, theres a hundred different things he can do from the position he had barboza in. In My opinion they should make the fighters WEIGH before they step in the cage also. However, Barboza displayed amazing leg kicks which is a skill most needed in the evolved mma world we see today. The muay thai leg kick is like a "cross" punch and the muay thai push kick is just a foolish kick/jab and should be replaced by the taekwando side kick.
