Porra...
I like it
I was hoping for the replacement to be ehhh Charles Schwabby
Interesting matchup...
Well this is going to test the 'survival is winning' philosophy...
I was totally boycotting Metamoris, now I kind of want to see Ryron v Barnett....Fuck!
I'm actually upset with this matchup, yeah its going to be good, but I was looking forward to watching Cyborg. That stinks for him because he ws putting in a lot of work while getting prepared for this match. Too bad hope he gets better soon to compete.
I've never rolled with Barnett, obviously he's a monster from his credentials and from what I've seen. I have rolled with Ryron a few times and I've never been completely owned all around worse than by him. That included rolling with Marcelo, though Marcelo was observing more and let me make mistakes. I'm not about to start a blasphemous post by speaking as if Marcelo is not the king of kings, don't get it twisted. But Ryron too was ridiculous all around. He was dangerous from every corner, every angle, and unless he was being blatantly charitable, there was nothing I could do at any moment that would give me even a semblance of hope. Even Rener didn't put me away like Ryron did. He doesn't get his due cuz he never competes and all he does is teach, but the dude can ball. Seriously. He pistol whipped me, dipped me then flipped me. It'll be a good match. And Marcelo is still the king, no matter what happens. Like I said, don't get it twisted. But don't think Ryrons not a dangerous motherf**ker just cuz his little bro's a g in a GI 😬
I would be very impressed if Ryron pulls this off. But I'm predicting that Barnet is really going to mess him up. Like bad. Like bloody nose, busted lip, black eye. I think Ryron is going to get ripped so bad that he's going to resent Ralek for setting up the match.
I can only imagine what the cult of Gracie will have to say after this match.
However, I will say that if we don't see Barnett tearing into Ryron with knees on the face, forearms in the eyesocket, forearms raking under the nose and all that other nasty catch stuff, then the Gracies probably requested special rules. I'll be very disappointed if Barnett doesn't go full blown catch on Ryron.
Arman, what type of Nogi guard game did Ryron play? He's going to be on his back from guard, half, and side (and mounted) and I just think Barnett is gonna crush him. If there was money involved, I'd bet the match will finish around the 7 minute mark with Barnett tapping Ryron from side control.
Ryron played an xguard heavy game. His length helps him a fair amount, given he's 6'4''. I predict that his mentality will be survival for the first half then look to attack later. It's pretty much his m.o., that style. It's not rocket science. He might even let Barnett pass his guard a la Galvao. He didn't fight to keep Galvao in his guard. People thought that it was Galvao absolutely positively dominating him like that but he really wasn't fighting hard to keep him in his guard, at least early on. Galvao couldn't really get anything going beyond the pass tho. I can't predict the outcome, so I don't know. I will say that there is definitely not enough tape on Ryron for anyone to make a valid prediction either. I'm just speculating on the few rolls we've had and the amount of mat time he has literally from the day he was born. I just think it's short-sighted to say that Barnett will steamroll him given that his whole life has been jiu jitsu. If anything, he'll take it to a draw. Or who knows, he'll get smoked. But we'll see. It's not like I condone or support how Ralek conducts business by any stretch of the imagination. But I know what I felt and, I mean, Ryron doesn't suck. That's all I was trying to say. Should be interesting.
Lmfaoooooo
70lb difference though, I just dunno
I just wish it was Ralek.
Well, Ryron is completely doomed.
Im sure they'll praise him for surviving however long he is able to and being true to Gracie Jiu Jitsu or some shit in the breakdown.
Gi Versus Speedos...Mad Respect
Warmaster all day
Gained a lot more hespect for Ryron from this. Sorry Eddie, EBI is awesome but I'm gonna have to buy this card...
Still won't support their shows. I will wait a extra day and watch it free on YouTube or I will find a free stream.
If Ryron gets Josh's back he might be able tap him. It's highly unlikely tho, josh will prolly smash him but if Ryron does manage to get his back and taps josh it could go down as the greatest victory ever for the Gracie's
first thing I thought was this makes no sense, then I found out he;s actualy 6 foot 3...but still, i dont see this being exciting.
Im really bummed about Metamoris in general. They could have the big leagues of Jiu Jitsu but Ralek is going to burn that company to the ground with his decisions. I don't understand the going to closed to public. RIP Metamoris
Think a new mouthguard ought to be in order? :p

Damn, I so wish Cyborg hadn't gotten injured. That matchup with Barnett was infinitely more interesting to me.
This Ryron vs. Barnett thing is a lose-lose for Barnett.
I guess the silver lining is that even though it's not much of a trophy to beat the smaller Ryron, I will love to watch Barnett steamroll him if that's what happens.
On paper josh wins but ive got a feeling Ryron might just pull it off.
I'm torn on this, I really like Josh but Ryron pulling out a win would be awesome.
Lister kept it playful and relied on his super human defense, and Josh just crushed him. Not sure Ryrons defense is better than Listers!!!! Ryron should change strategy and go 100% using as much speed as possible to go for the kill within the first few minutes. Kudos to Ryron, but silly matchup. Boycott M6..
So according to the OFFICIAL Metamoris stat sheet, Barnett is listed at 6'0" 259 pounds, and (this part always makes me chuckle) 95% Catch Wrestling, 75% Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 70% Wrestling, 85% Conditioning.
Ryron is listed as 6'3" 195 pounds, coming in at a hefty 95% Gracie Jiu Jitsu, 90% Submission Defense, a comparably lax 40% Wrestling, and 90% Conditioning.
So there you have it. We have our match on paper. According to my calculations, if we were to run a computer simulation based on these statistics, Josh Barnett will attempt to take Ryron down and succeed, but Ryron will neutralize his Catch Wrestling with good ol' fashioned GJJ. Barnett's BJJ will not be able to trump Ryron's submission defense, as it turns out, given the sizable 15% difference in Barnett's BJJ rating vs. Ryron's submission defense rating. Ryron will presumably be on defense the majority of the time, but we can expect that 85% thru the match, at say ohh...the 22-23 minute mark (keep in mind that it's a 25 minute match), Barnett will gas out, at which point Ryron's 5% advantage in conditioning will come into play as he is able to gain positional advantage and secure the submission. So there you have it. We have our victor. And it's backed by statistics, so what else can we say?
