Reverse rubber guard techniques from bottom side control

Are there any techniques that use a "Reverse" rubber guard from bottom side control? I've been experimenting with this a lot due to my flexibility and when someone gets top side control, I'll shoot my legs up and manage to trap their head with a reverse rubber guard. I'll grab my own leg so my arm will be on the side of their neck so they can't pull out and i'll go to a sort of "reverse crackhead" or "Reverse invisible collar" hold.

It becomes a stalemate in that they can't get out so while they're still on top, they're not able to do anything. But I can't sweep or finish. I tried in a few rolling sessions to squeeze and do some sort of improvised reverse invisible collar choke but haven't had much time to mess with it.

Now, I will be able to get the left leg but sometimes I can't get their right arm as they have an underhook. I'll shoot my legs up, I can trap his head and move him down to my hips.

Most of the time I will use my LEFT arm to grab my left leg (so not exactly rubber guard) and hook my feet together. My LEFT ARM is right on the left side of his neck and it prevents him from pushing his head back out. The right side is where I have a problem getting it tight. I'd like to be able to choke him out from here.

Has someone thought of messing with this before and if so, can you link me to some techniques or MTS that show these techniques? Kind of rare to find cause most people aren't that flexible.

Another example of those type of techniques would be the hail mary mount escape. i use that all the time but I would have never even heard of it or known it was possible if it wasn't for seeing eddie pull it off in his MTS videos.

My school's instructors certainly won't be able to help in this genre, they don't do much flexibility techniques.

Sorry if I am rambling, hope this makes sense.

I have seen a video by Kesting that shows an Escape from Side Control Kimura to this position and how to finish with choke or pass to top side control.

Interesting, I'll try to find it. Is it a gi technique? I'm looking mainly for nogi

It's shown one guy wearing a gi, one guy in rashguard. I doesn't seem to use any gi grips so should be transferable.

That is amazing. I wind up in this position all the time but have a hard time finishing. I'll have to practice this.

It might not be too great if these are the only side escapes you are good at so its worth having all your shrimping, your hip escapes, your granbys and your heismans down first as your go to's. Hip movement is normally higher percentage from bottom side, especially if you are learning these kind of escapes to compensate for not having developed very good hip movement yet. Thats pretty counter productive.

Theres a beautiful armbar from bottom side, Mick showed it me, I am not sure if it is from 10th Planet originally or not.. but the beauty of it is they pull away from the armbar and hence take their weight off you from side control. Its a different tact from the triangle which forces them to stay low kinda making it sub or nothing; whereas the armbar doesnt need to be sunk or even that close, if it forces them to react you have an easy escape back to guard. Thank you for sharing the triangle though, high level stuff we can all learn from!

IF you are in the position showed in the video you posted you can kimura or americana their free arm closest to you. Also, I believe that position is called an inverted triangle not reverse rubber guard.

Yeah actually I was thinking the same thing, I might try the kimura next time.

The position I'm in isn't exactly the inverted triangle though because I'm using my arm to hold my leg and then crossing my feet. Kind of like invisible collar or chilldog. It holds them down securely. I'm going to have to mess with this a bit more but those videos are very cool.

These are Larry Hartsell JKD grappling techniques that Bruce Lee learned from Gene Lebell. We drill them at the JKD Institute. I've found them to be semi successful, maybe 20-30%. Chris Herzog's Ghost series is way more successful 50-60%. It's nice to have them in your bag but The Ghost has become my go to. That and Jeff Glover's deep half escape.
