Yeah the Step Over Toe Hold is a cool, but I can only hit it as a counter to the armbar or a transition off the knee bar if at all.
I didnt see an ear grab, but its a bad tech. Something that will only work on a guy with no movement in the hips, or who doesnt know how to do an oma plata. A guy with a good oma plata/handcontrol/sweep transistion, will make you really regret putting yourself in that position IMO.
Not illegal IMO, but not going to work on a good guy either.
