Been thinking about it for a while, finally have all the pieces in place where I can move to Hollywood and train at 10th planet every day. Tying up loose ends, should be heading out there in about 2-3 weeks. I have enough saved to last me for a year or so, but I'm going to try and find a job as soon as I get there. I'm going to find a room to rent on craigslist unless anyone knows of any availabilities. Thanks!

Good for you dude. Come out. I had no good reason to move here except I was sick of Jersey and stalking 10th Planet videos on youtube every day. I never regretted it for a second. NYC is awesome, but it's endless summer out here.

I've been thinking about moving out there for a year now, but the thing holding me back was that I'm a lawyer in NY and I'll have to study for and pass the CA Bar and wait about 8 months to be admitted, but I'm finally at the point where it will be worth it with all the perks in Cali. Training under Eddie is the biggest perk of course. Then the endless summers are a phenomenal perk as well. I've never even been to Cali so I can't wait for the weather. I'm a big Rogan fan too and getting to go to the Ice House shows will be awesome. The icing on the cake would be the opportunity to meet the Great Renato and speak with him about the merits of the heefer.Quote:

Commuting from Santa Monice to HQ every night would be awful. The closeness on the map can be deceiving when there's an ocean of cars in between.
I personally would probably not move right by HQ if I had a car and sufficient funds, but that's just me. Though, I don't think it's dangerous, really (if you can ignore the gang graffiti). Where you choose to go kind of depends on what you're into. Los Feliz, Echo Park, and Silver Lake are all kind of hip up-and-coming areas. West Hollywood is nice. There is a large gay community there, so you get what comes along with a lot of young guys with discretionary income. That is, it's clean, and there's lots of restaurants and bars, etc. Commuting from Burbank wouldn't be out of the question either. That's your suburban neighborhood kind of vibe. If you want a yard, you'll probably look in that direction.
Awesome dude...shoot i moved from Chicago to here straight after getting married with very little money saved up. Like eddie told me once when i posted that i was moving to L.A...... It's tough to survive out her but it's doable
That's awesome man, congrats on making it out there! How do you like it? How long you been there? Yeah I here the economy is weak, but I'll work 60 hours a week for $10 an hour if it means I can burn. I actually just found a couple other similarly situated 20 somethings looking for a place so I think we're all gonna go in on a place together. They're saying the most happening place to be is Hermosa or Manhattan Beach, so I'm torn, as I hear the commute to HQ every night would be a nightmare...decisions, decisions.
Taking a leap like that is awesome, I'd like to do that temporary, and consider it going away for 'Jiu Jitsu University' hah

Thanks guys! All packed up, flight leaves from NYC Saturday morning! SO excited! Bogged down right now with logistics but soon I'll be settled in and training. I think I'm going to rent a room in Silverlake, Atwater Village or Glendale to be close to HQ, I was looking at Echo Park but I heard it's shady.
Are you at H.Q yet?.......Echo Park isn't shady to me....im close to H.Q by Korea Town but moving in June....let me know if your here already
Hey Omar. Yeah I'm here! I got here Saturday and have been busy night and day trying to get a car and an apartment. I got a car yesterday, still in the process of trying to get an apartment. I'm staying with a friend in Huntington Beach until I can find an apartment close to HQ. I stopped by HQ Sunday and knocked on the door but someone opened it with a sauna suit on and said they were closed. I'm in the process of applying for a really nice place in Sherman Oaks but I have shitty credit so I don't know if that will work out. I'm looking around there, studio city, silverlake, weho, noho, atwater village, or even glendale if I have to. I should be in the area again in the next couple days, I'll definitely stop by.
