Seems good.
Josh has taught the Baurilo version to us as one of the subs from the truck, and had a name for it that I thought was a name in the system... When I first saw the vid I thought isn't that just a diff grip on the same thing, although it looks like with this control its twisting the hip crazy style, although I do wonder if someone booted hard, would it break your grip, or does the compressiong bending their leg prevent them from having the mechanics to do so... Lets get experimenting and get some SCIENCEEEEEE on this!
We will fucks with it here in the CHI. We love our twisters :)
Seems good, gonna try to drill it a bit and try it while rolling.
Something for us to experiment with. Thanks for putting this out there. I'd like to hear back and see if anyone is having a good amount of success with it after their experiments on the mats :).
Thanks for the great answer Javier!
Looks like a good control position that should create similar pressure to the Banana Split.
I use a similar grip sometimes to finish a Kimura/arm crush from top side control, but as David said that can be difficult against someone stronger than me; they simply fight to keep their arm straight and I can't lock the grip. I can imagine that being infinitely more difficult to do against someone's leg.
I'll use it some today during live rolling at the Noon class and film it and then post it here for us to study.
oh shit! this wrestler that was a walk in at my home gym, he did this to me. It hurts like a motherfucker if they are fast and get a good grip. its a pretty good submission, and it makes the truck just more deadly.
Hi Guys, I will try to come back on later and answer some Q's if I can. This was filmed less than 5 mins after Pj hit it rolling, so it's still fairly new to us as well. As Brian mentioned, the grip is similar to top-crossbody kimura...I call it the "I dream of Jeannie" (not sure everyone will get the reference).
We welcome any and all feedback. thanks
Joel
