Tuck your chin stupid!
video!
The triangle finish was epic, and I didn't even notice that he knocked himself out. I hope that match was one that got caught on video.
Lol well at least it worked out for him!
Great Work Tom!
Powerful Sleeping Guard!
it shows the power of muscle memory. he must have put in a lot of triangle reps in. impressive.
We need a Gif of this guard play asap!
Nice survival mode Tom!
I once heard this from a legendary grappler, "when your good, you can do this in your sleep". Toms apparently good at triangles...hehe
Ive got a title idea for the documentary of his life leading up to the creation of the famous "Cat Nap Triangle" :)

I'm uploading the video now.... to be honest it was a triangle/armbar ;)
The good news is the Big Cat still has 8 lives left!

I didn't realize how hard he hit his head. Props to his opponent for not takin advantage of that.
Ive knocked myself out like that a few times during college wrestling on bad scrambles and takedowns. Snapping the back of the head like he did wont knock out your cognitive thinking abilities or (luckily in this case) your true consciousness. But you WILL go temporarily blind in the form of a "black out" even though your still using your instincts. Looks to me like he snapped his head just enough to black out but didn't go limp. Most people wouldn't notice that subtle inaction of not defending the pass after the guard pull, but it probably happens more than we realize it!
Good thing Tom's a badass!
Everything went black for a second, then I just saw stars. It was kinda like getting choked out in reverse. He had me in side control by the time I realized where i was. I should have had a better clinch before i pulled and tucked my chin. Lesson learned ;)
Nice. That's crazy. It looked like it hit pretty hard. Nice recovery Tom!
Damn, that was impressive. Way to go!
That gave me a headache just watching it (especially in slow mo). Great job to recover and a textbook finish.
Wow that was crazy! Lol awesome finish though!
Wild! Awesome recovery. Good job ;]
Epic. Am I the only one who was worried For his knee when the guy was trying to posture out of his RG and he was holding on to his foot?
Also notice how his foot is active (curls his toes back towards his own knees), this is a detail I stress in Rubber Guard which engages the peroneal tendon which supports and strengthens the function of the knee. This is a detail everyone should be aware of and using while playing Rubber Guard, especially is you have knee problems. Its a trick I learned in Yoga and has saved my knees ;)
