Its ridiculous that parents want to win so bad that they have their kids cut weight. I am totally against it, some of the tourneys we go to here use a 10% method and weigh ins are same day. Helps to stop peeps cutting a bunch of weight. Teens ok to a small extent and adults can do whatev lol. Just very against the little ones cutting, they need to be able to have fun with it. I understand that some kids are born killers but most just want to have fun and if they dont they will quit.

I believe that kids cut weight in wrestling all the time.
If you look online there are many articles how about repeatedly cutting weight stunts your growth depending on how you do it.
If you limit your carb/calorie intake your body produces less IGF which is used to form new muscle cells up until puberty after which point you don't form new muscle cells you mostly stretch existing ones.
But cutting a few lbs in a hot bath is slightly different because it's just water loss.

Hey guys, I feel the same way as yall that is why I was shocked to even hear about it and witness it myself. I myself will never let my 62 lb daughter cut 3 lbs just to kill the lower weight division. I'm in it to search for the best competition for her possible, not in it for the belt or gold. So far, ever since we started competing, Cora has already avenge all of her lost. Every boy that has beaten her from the start got pay back already and she since surpass them. The big boy will have it coming to him too if he doesn't train hard...lol For us its always have been....lose...learn...train hard...beat them back.
