When do the polls close? :)
Why Scott Yockel?
One of the most dedicated Nibiru Warriors I've met to date.
Scott has dedicated himself to teaching the future of 10th Planet by running our junior program.
Scott won the first 10th Planet 8 man submitting every opponent.
Scott won the 2nd 10th Planet 8 man submitting every opponent.
In the process he submitted 3 separate 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Head Instructors.
With both Scott's abilities on the mat and teaching ability he could easily be running his own moon.
By Blue Belt Scott had submitted white belts, blues belts, purple belts, brown belts and a black belt in submission only competitions.
If I were to die today, I have no doubt that Scott could carry on the Empire we've built at 10th Planet Rochester with nothing but success.
Ant, Lopez racked up tons of medals (i'll get a count) and won...PAN AMS. Serious question, when was the last time a 10th planet guy won Pan Ams?
Why Louis Ho?
Because he's a Street Ho and knows where the action is.
Adam - Scott, Tie :)
Out of the nominees I vote for the Red Destroyer! :-)
Really you should be allowed to select three people as nominees and let the votes work the numbers out. Being that I was forced to pick only one, I went with Adam.
All the other names up there are venerable Nibiru Warriors, but with Adam fighting so hard towards ADCC he has a real chance at showcasing the 10P system to the cynics out there. If he does well there it will be very good for the 10P system as a whole in a big way.
This is a tough one, everyone one of these dudes reps hard for the system. Fuck I don't know who to pick.
Why Ant Lopez
He is only 18 years old and has more titles than most instructors out there. He embodies the idea of a warrior. He is interested only in his self improvement. He has been training since he was 3 years old and participates in nearly every single class offered every day from karate to muay thai. He is a black belt in traditional jujitsu. He is also an assistant instructor at the academy.
He is humble, modest, and continually strives to be the best he can be beyond just jiu-jitsu. He does not have facebook, twitter, forum accounts, even a fuckin email address he lives breathes and eats martial arts.
He despises the limelight lol he had me take down all his videos because he felt he didn't deserve the attention and that it was unnecessary and it wasn't helping him get any better.
Ant should be warrior of the year because the reality is at 18 years old he shows more self-discipline and humbleness than most of us and when my daughter is old enough to seriously begin her jiu-jitsu journey i will tell her to do it exactly like Ant. Stay humble and make self improvement the priority.
Ant Lopez for President 2036
Ant
Damn Derek.... :)
RW
Why Frank Barca?
He's the dude that has been building 10th Planet JJ in Australia for years, he travels 16 hrs to and from L.A 2-3x a year to train with the biggest, the baddest, and the best the 10th has to offer and he brings it all back for us the Down under Niburus.
He works his ass off for all of his guys and he bleeds 10th Planet JJ.
Not that he bleeds I'm pretty sure he's made outta the same stuff as Wolverines claws, Ha Ha.
Did I leave out that Yockel has sacrificed his hair for 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu?
I feel like I have already won just being on this list of Nibiru warriors. :D
Was SO hard to pick this one ... Scott is a stud and he has great accomplishments ... ADCC qualifiying Red destroyer ... damn ... wish I could pick a few ... but someone has to win :)
I agree with Josh, tough choice
Multiple medals at subleage 4:00min matches sub only.
Awarded Brown Belt
Advanced Gracie World Champ
Held my first seminar at 10th planet portland hotbox.
I always post my matches, win lose or draw you can count on me to post my matches. Banged up the second half of the year took me out of competition.
Much respect to Mike Dewitt Jr. Always in the mix. A warrior in my book.
My vote goes to Scott Yockel. I think the fact that Garmin is using him for direct directions and several different paths to heels, ankles, foots and legs for the holiday season deserves NWOY!!
I remember back in the day, I used to buy Guitar Player Magazine. And they would have awards going to Best Jazz Guitarist, Best Flamenco Guitarist, Biggest Homo Guitarist, etc. In many ways, I think a lot of the people nominated are worthy of awards, but for slightly different reasons. Guys like Mike Dewitt Jr, Red, and Ant are young, hungry, and represent the present and future of 10th Planet competitors. They compete in major comps like Worlds and Pan Ams and do VERY well. You gotta have respect for that. Red's win of the ADCC qualifiers is huge and he should definitely get props for that. Take a look at Scott Yockel. He is amazing at leg locks. His wins at the in house 10th Planet tournaments attest to that. He's definitely a great competitor. At age 43 and with a body that is pretty fucked up, I squeeze out as many comps as I can. More recently, I did win 2 Canadian Grapplers Quest titles, and came in 2nd at the Las Vegas Grapplers Quest. I also did win Submission of the Night at my superfight at the Fight For Charity Event in Montreal. And also, you got guys like Frank Barca, who travels from Australia to train at HQ probably more than any of the instructors. In terms of knowledge and dedication, it's hard to top Frank. Sorry if I forgot to name anybody else. Oh yeah, I'd like to give a shout out to Mike Seabrook. Although he wasn't nominated, there is no bullshit with this guy. He trains hard and puts his ass on the line. I have nothing but respect for him. And yeah, one more dude. Brian Barncat Debbes. He's not much of a party type and has the personality of a wet sponge, but he loves to learn and compete. Nothing but respect for him.
Yes sr! Technique over everything!! Louis ho, warrior of the decade!
Let's not go overboard, Nathan. :)
I wont win it but I'm totally honored to even be on the list. not to bad for a ronin
Hey guys thanks for all the votes so far. 2012 has been a great year for me. 1st place gracie nationals, 1st place Gracie worlds my weight class and split first place with my boy mike nunja in the absolute division. After Gracie Worlds I got my brown belt. Also won the adcc trials. I submitted everyone I faced this year in competition. I am not going to lie a free trip to headquarters would help a ton in my training getting ready for adcc. Mike, Ant and Scott are all bad asses though. This has been a great year for the entire 10th planet family. Sorry for the nominations I left out everyone on the nomination list is well deserving for different reasons.
+1 for Scottttttttttttttttt !
F'ing Scott!
Definitely a tough field, all the nominees are more than worthy. I had to go with my nemesis, f'ing Scott Yockel :).
Mr Yockel. My training partner. My buddy. Took me under his wing 4 years ago and I have learned so so much from him.
Love you buddy.
I believe there are many good ass guys in the running for this. I applaud all of em.
But, in the end, I'm going with 10P SF's Adam "Big Red" Sachnoff!
Reasoning:
10 years prior, in 2002, Eddie Bravo qualified for the ADCC's in San Diego and went on to Brazil for the main event, in 2003.
2012 ADCC qualification, 2013 ADCC Main Event in Brazil... Let's go for gold!! You've made all of us, Denny, and Eddie super proud to be a 10P Warrior!
