Ronda is so nasty with that swim move. That leg was gnarly.
So upset with the silva fight. Silva got beat up that first round but anything can happen while he is standing and to know that he will probably not fight again over this really sucks.
i am sooo sad about this, weidman is not the better fighter, that was a freak accident and in no way proves anything. not even that he has shins of steel. worst fight ive ever seen, its just horribly sad and i hope anderson can still walk/ train after this, i dont think ive ever heard such pure agony from someone like that before.
ps weidman acted like an absolute arsehole afterwards, i prefer brock lesnar as a champion.
on a more positive note, that was an amazing fight between ronda rousey and miesha twat or whatever her name is. i think that fight showed more than anything how far ronda is above the rest of the fighters in the division. cat zingano vs tate was a close fight but zingano did have an advantage. i couldve thrown my grappling dummy in and it wuld ahve had as much success as tate did agaisnt ronda today. it was beautiful.
I hope Anderson is able to walk again without any pain. If a horse breaks it's leg like that the just shoot the horse. I hope he is able to recover and walk around normal.
Nice armbar from Jim Miller. Rondas was nice to. She didnt even have a leg over the head. I see what she was trying to do the first time she missed it
People, we need to remember that as much as this "doesn't prove anything", Wiedman owned the first round in both fights. Albeit the first was due to Anderson's clowning, but this time Wiedman still knocked him down and peppered him with G&P. Not saying that Wiedman is truly "better" than Silva, but lets remember that if this were a fight in the streets, Silva would be dead right now. Twice. That alone proves Wiedman is no joke. We will see what happens when he fights Vitor "Steroid Jesus" Belfort.
Yeah.. Ronda definitely impressed me this fight. (Though Tate had her moments as well). But more than anything, Rouseys Judo looked brilliant. Theres no doubt shes the best judo practitioner in there.. But the way she was able to utilize it by using Meshas forward aggression/momentum against her (as opposed to clinching and tossing from a stand still position as usual) was awesome. Thats the difference between someone who trains Judo, and someone who lives it. Though that armbar did raise some questions in my head.. I assumed Tate had the better cardio going into the fight.. but that finish made me rethink that assumption. With her other arm free, and the arm not fully extended.. Im not positive that she wasnt tapping to the fact she was stuck/exhausted moreso than the pain/locked in armbar. Though after the last fight.. Im sure she wasnt looking to take any chances.
As for Silva.. Gross. Theres no doubt Chris dominated the first round.. And I assume would have won the fight. But I still hate seeing it end that way. But like Joe said.. He knew leg kicks were an issue after last fight.. and he did exactly what he needed to do. I think Weidman might be the best overall in the weightclass right now.. but to me I still love watching a Master of 1 martial art compete as opposed to someone who is very good in them all. Andersons standup was that of legend.. And Im guessing itll be awhile before we see someone with standup that good again. (But if I had to guess who itll be.. Im going with Stephen Thompson in 4 years) :P

Seeing Anderson go down with that broken leg was honestly more heartbreaking than some breakups I've had with ex-girlfriends. Seriously, that dude (in my opinion at least) is the most amazing standup fighter ever, and quite possibly the greatest MMA fighter that ever lived.
Whether or not you share my beliefs, one thing we've all gotta agree on - he doesn't deserve to go out like this. I don't mind not seeing him in the Octagon again, as long as he can walk and train again (or train other fighters) in future.
On a final note, all those assholes on the internet with their jokes, memes or just plain straight out insults about Anderson and his horrific injury deserve to have their legs crushed, and be surrounded by a crowd of strangers standing over them laughing. Really, the nerve of some people.
p.s. Since everyone's also on this topic - Rhonda's judo is out of this world!! The way she tossed Miesha around when Miesha (who's a pretty reputed wrestler) went in for her shots was just.... unbelievable - like some overpowered boss character in a video game.

what was miller trying to do exactly? was it just me or did it look like meathook for a while, and then kind of a meathook into gogo? i cant remembber exactly.
and i still cant believe how many people tate has won over with a few fake smiles. shes one of those people who is all smiles when people look and then a bitch behind their backs. i think ronda couldve shaken hands to show good sportsmanship but thats just how some people are in a fight, chael sonnen insulted brasil as a nation and people thought it was funny, travis browne used barnetts signiture move he does when he wins, chris weidman celebrated like a douche while anderson was in pain. i just dont see it as being a big deal.
Meisha is one dumb chick and I think Rhonda doesn't have a tolerance for stupidity. Rhonda knocked it out of the park last night. She showed everyone that she has great stand up, awesome judo throws, and as always..her signature arm bar as the finish. The head wasn't all the way in and Meisha definitely had the option to stack and try to get out, but Rhonda had all intentions of breaking that thing. In the over head view it looks like it wasn't fully extended, but when it shows the close up, it is. It's just still kind of bent to the side. The ref stopped it in time for sure.
And as far as Anderson, what a crappy way to end the night. His career is for sure over and I do believe that's one of the saddest things that's ever happened in MMA. Hopefully he will have a good recovery. :-(

Nothing but respect for Ronda and her professionalism. She will deserve and possibly get the biggest payday in UFC history if Cyborg can be sorted. I had never bought any fight PPV in my life until yesterday, but did to see Ronda's fight with Meisha, which says alot for what she's doing, how shes doing it and what shes doing/worth to the UFC.
