nice read. thank you very much.
I say keep it legal, it only adds to the fight. To me it like not let a guy clinch against the cage to get a takedown.
It should be perfectly legal it is no different then kicking off the cage while on the ground to use it to sweep, Really it is about the same idea of wall-walking too just using the cage to help out a move but not grabbing the cage which is illegal.
Plus guys have superman punched by putting a foot on the cage and pushing off before.
You shouldn't be allowed to get up on top of the cage though Crazy-Horse style ;P
I was just about to comment about wall-walking already being legal so there's not too much of a difference if you look at it that way.
Yeah that is how I see it, Like Doc. said too getting on top of the cage is illegal at least how he reads the rules and I read them the same way.
Getting on the cage most likely requires you to grab the cage so that is illegal for sure but you are also placing part of your body on top of the cage which should be viewed as leaving/exiting the cage simply pushing off the cage without grabbing it with your hands should be completely legal.
I think it should be Legal! its not going to be more powerful then a kick where you dont jump off the cage. Your not allowed to grab the cage but your allowed to push off it.
We should have this!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hQC3nkftrk
At the X Games , guys are doing the double back flip now. Younger guys are going to be practicing that more often then coming up with even flashier moves and end up getting hurt. That's one perspective to look at. Kids training for mma might want to be flashier and be the next big thing, and could end up cutting their careers short.
