Have you ever set up the reverse omoplata from anywhere but the turtle or the sprawl. I have been messing around with setting it up from the crucifix and from side control with an inside arm pin, but I was curious if Chris or anyone on here has another setup. Whats up man, I have played with that "reverse omoplata" for a while now.. I have hit it from crucifix, but it was against lower ranked/inexperienced partners.. its not really high percentage for me though.. its a lot of work to get their arm in the right position from the crucifix.. attacking this from the turtle is the highest percentage in my experience... I have also hit this from the top side Crucifix (arms trapped, but you're on top of them, instead of on their back..) .. Also, kind of irrelevent, but this is also called the Yadviga in Sambo..Quote:

I was commentating at Kakuto Pro a couple of weeks ago and the guy who won the Judo Division subbed 2 guys with a Reverse Omoplata. It was awesome. I haven't personally spent enough time with it to understand it.

Sorry, completely missed this thread. I set it up primarily from the turtle, as I learned it in Sambo. However I do also hit it from defending the double under pass. You really have to be ready for the pass and expect it coming. I essentialy shoot in butterlfies with my legs before they can elevate me hips, The I hook one of their elbows from the outside coming in, then come up to the back side position with my leg all ready threaded into their arm, then roll over the shoulder, block their head/upper body and sit up into the submission.
That would make for a tighter NoGi counter to the double under than what I was thinking. Nice.Quote:
