Freshman year in High School I saw a technique online on how to get the twister from side control and tried once or twice. Later, sometime Sophomore year, I read about Eddie and his book "Jiu-Jitsu Unleashed". A month or two later, my brother showed up with it and been using it ever since.

Joe Rogan mentioned him at some point on tv or on a youtube video and I watched some of the "Eddie Bravo on" videos and I was hooked. You da man eddie! 10th planet JJ is the shit!

Picked up Eddie's first book at a book store in Detroit. I was already playing no-gi and had also trained many students. I was really happy not to be alone in my thinking, because my instructors didn't like this way of thinking. I trained under some famous teacher's and when I stop wearing the gi they said I wasn't doing Jiu Jitsu even though I came to practice everyday and won. But what really got me is when I saw Eddie do the Camel Clutch.

I trained in the gi at a Renzo Gracie affiliate some years ago and as a beginner was constantly finding my guard being passed by the bigger guys. Fortunately, I would be able to snatch a leg and maintain half guard, but from there I had no plan. Half guard wasn't much of an offensive position or so I thought, until one day looking for answers at the local bookstore. After searching the shelves through the plethora of Gracie books and others for possible answers, the only one with any type of game plan was Eddie. I was familiar with the name through Joe Rogan's commentary during the UFC broadcasts and with the techniques I found in Jiu-Jitsu Unleashed, I was able to perceive the position in a new way. No longer was it a dead zone to just try and replace guard, it was a place that offered me an offensive strategy to move forward. As a smaller guy, it was a blessing to see. Eddie was the ONLY one at the time offering these types of techniques and for that I am extremely thankful. Changed everything about the way I play jiu jitsu. Thanks Eddie!!! :)

I was introduced about 2.5 years ago working with a Machado purple belt and he mentioned that he was in a Barns & Noble and he talked about seeing some moves in a book called MAstering the Twister. I thought the twister was kewl so i went to checked out the book I ended up buying Mastering the Rubber Guard first, then Mastering the Twister then I got the Rubber Guard DVD's. I always worked on my GI training mostly before that and was fasinated with all the No-GI stuff and just got hooked.
