technique projects

Hey guys, I was just wondering what techniques you're working on to help evolve your game. I've heard eddie and other higher level guys basically say if you're not working on something and evolving then your game is dying (not word for word but that basic concept :) ).
So what is everyone trying to master? Ever since seeing Marcelo Garcia's New Game DVD I've really been working on all forms of the Crucifix, whether its the standard Crucifix or the modified versions like with the Puppet Master.
