MY THOUGHTS ON JONES vs SILVA

jones has not done any were near the hard work silva has he hasn't cleared his division he will loss to lyoto phill n rashad jones hasn't beat any one but a slow ring rusted rua o n a bader whos only real opponent was lil nog u watch he wont hold the belt any longer then rampage lyoto rashad forrest and o...r rua like if u think he will because he beat a couple of chumps silva has beat ever one hes bin working for years to clear his division n to get were he is to day hes had like 30 fights n jones has had like 12 yes hes, good but to compare him to silva is just retarded like i said once jones beats lyoto phill rashad rampage or hamill we will see who the real champion is look up your facts look past the hype 30 to 12 thats a big margin and if in 18 fights jones is still undefeated and all this shit then ill compare him to silva

im just saying if i worked in paper sales warehouse n i have bin selling paper for 5 years of near perfection in my sales n some new guys comes in does 2 years of work then ever one is saying hes better at selling paper when hes only done ...it for 2 years were i have bin doing it perfect for 5 i would be down right pissed and feel disrespected and thats how i feel about this hole jones vs silva ever one is looking past silva n disrespecting him

i disagree unfortunately i think Jones will be on top of the pile for some time.... fantastic wrestling comfortable striking.... he will obviously improve his cardio and has Greg Jackson working his strategies... he's a breathe of fresh air imo and can see him taking care of the division i think rampage may give him some troubles...but again who are we to guess he's had only a handful of fights...this i feel is just the beginning... i would be interested in seeing him face anderson silva.... silva could outstrike him but with the mix of wrestling ability jones has i feel he may even ragdoll anderson out of a decision

to me it would be like some jiu jitsu guy winning a tournament n the hole world jumps on his back and just starts looking past gracie jiu jitsu n tenth planet jiu jitsu to some 20 year old who won one tournament ?

The 205 division is much deeper than the 185 division. I doesnt matter that Jones has been only fighting for 3 years. Hes been wrestling his whole life. Show me when Jones has lost a single round in the UFC. He'll destroy Evans, he'll destroy Machida, and anybody you put in front of him. Silva wouldnt stand a chance.

Has anyone actually gone back and watch the Lyoto and Shogun fight or any of the pride fights for that matter? Did the Shogun that fought jones look anything like the one that cleaned out pride? No way. A ring rusted fighter will always get man handled and shogun had just that happen to him, im looking forward to seeing him return against Forrest Griffin to get a win back.

Anderson would pick jones apart, or just lay and pray to hit him with a Triangle in the 5th round just to prove a point like he did against Sonnen.

The fight i'd like to see is Cain vs Jones

Jones' style is the style Silva has trouble with. If a super dehydrated Travis Lutter can take him down and put him into a bad position do you really think Jones wouldnt toss him on his head and actually finish him? IF this fight were to happen Jones would do just that. Silva is smarter than to accept a fight with Jones so all this thread is, is speculation. And the only way Silva would move up a weight class to challenge the champ is if Machida had retired because Silva doesnt want to take away Machida's chances at that belt.
Now that Strikeforce is now the UFC the middleweight division has gotten a ton deeper. Im calling for Jacare/Silva.

Overeem/Velasquez would also be nice to watch

You're right. Jones hasn't proven himself just yet. But he has proven to have a deadly combination of tools. His reach is the longest in the UFC. His sense of balance and leverage is genius from the clinch. It's perfect for MMA. His ground and pound is vicious. He has clearly dominated every single person he's fought. He has potential to do the same to each of his up coming challengers.

Again, GSP is too small to fight Jones. You guys don't seem to realize, size and weight have a lot to do with MMA now. That's why there are weight classes. That's why a bulky dude like Thiago Alves cuts to stay at welterweight because although he's heavy enough for middle, he's too small. Reach has a lot to do with fights too.


Jones is like a build a character you would want to make in a video game. I'm telling you. Everyone will have trouble with Jones reach except inside fighters. And they have to worry about Jone's wrestling. He's not unbeatable, but he's a tall task for everyone at 205.
