Your thoughts on Iran/nukes

Im just curious to hear some of your opinions..

1.) Do you think Iran has/will have nukes in the near future?

2.) If they did manage to get a nuke.. would they be dumb enough to launch it at anyone? (They shoot their one nuke.. they're getting wiped off the map)

3.) Should we be taking it upon ourselves to take the lead in making sure they dont get this bomb, or attacking if they do have one? Or is this just another Iraq scenario all over again?

Side note.. our spy drone.. should we force them to give it back or was this our fault for flying drones over there in the first place?

No chance they currently have a nuke, you would have already seen a missle strike.
They dont have any long range abilities, so maybe with in the region.. but still doubtful.
With great power comes great responsibility. That dosnt mean sending troops.. but it does mean making people aware.
Far as our governments concerned I doubt they give two shits who gets the drone. That drone is very early 2000 technology, its outdated and while it may give china or russia a slight insight its highly unlikely it holds anything they didnt already know or where incapable of finding on there own. The data it holds is most likely so encrypted that it would take a lifetime to crack and word is that they hold very little onboard flight data of any kind, its all bounced directly to the satellite with little to no retention on the drone itself. So basically its like you having a 10 year old inoperable laptop that you dont even have the password if you did manage to get it to start.

I feel like the government is just trying to incite another war for personal gain. north korea has 6-8 nukes and an arsenal of chemical weapons. China has over 180 active nukes. Yet we don't attack them. Why? Because we get our loans from china and there is no oil in north korea.

The U.S. gov is trying to pull another iraq scam on us. I'd like to think the american people have smartened up since the last one.

+1 Israel's got nukes but won't admit it openly. We don't seem to be worried about them using them for anything but deterrence, yet Iran is somehow crazy enough to get suicidal on everyone's ass by launching a nuke just because.

Iran's leadership's is lead by religion. That religion says that it's their divine duty to rid the world of westerners and Israel. So, you can understand why they may be a 'threat'.

My view is essentially the same as what Ron Paul said on the tonight show. Iran is one of the few countries in that area that is actually part of the nuclear proliferation treaty, and have the right to develop nuclear power for peaceful purposes. There is absolutely NO evidence that they have enriched anything for weapons use and the propaganda here sounds a lot like the WMD babble in the build up to Iraq. Don't buy it.

In 1951 Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddeq received the vote required from the parliament to nationalize the British-owned oil industry, in a situation known as the Abadan Crisis. Despite British pressure, including an economic blockade, the nationalization continued. Mossadegh was briefly removed from power in 1952 but was quickly re-appointed by the shah, due to a popular uprising in support of the premier and he, in turn, forced the Shah into a brief exile in August 1953 after a failed military coup by Imperial Guard Colonel Nematollah Nassiri. Iran was ruled as an autocracy under the shah with American support from that time until the revolution. The Iranian entered into agreement with an international consortium of foreign companies which ran the Iranian oil facilities for the next 25 years splitting profits fifty-fifty with Iran but not allowing Iran to audit their accounts or have members on their board of directors. In 1957 martial law was ended after 16 years and Iran became closer to the West, joining the Baghdad Pact and receiving military and economic aid from the US. In 1961, Iran initiated a series of economic, social, agrarian and administrative reforms to modernize the country that became known as the Shah's White Revolution.

NOW let us look at some known groups that were trained by the CIA (indirectly) making them dangerous. Hezbollah its leaders were inspired by Ayatollah Khomeini, and its forces were trained and organized by a contingent of Iranian Revolutionary Guards. If you don't know who Hezbollah is you might as well drop out of this conversation. On February 16, 1985, Sheik Ibrahim al-Amin issued Hezbollah's manifesto. Translated excerpts from Hezbollah's original 1985 manifesto read:

We are the sons of the umma (Muslim community) ...
... We are an ummah linked to the Muslims of the whole world by the solid doctrinal and religious connection of Islam, whose message God wanted to be fulfilled by the Seal of the Prophets, i.e., Prophet Muhammad. ... As for our culture, it is based on the Holy Quran, the Sunna and the legal rulings of the faqih who is our source of imitation...

Hezbollah follows the Islamic Shi'a theology developed by Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

He was named Man of the Year in 1979 by American newsmagazine TIME for his international influence and has been described as the "virtual face of Islam in Western popular culture." He was known for his support of the hostage takers during the Iran hostage crisis and his fatwa calling for the death of British citizen Salman Rushdie.

Khomeini has been criticized for these acts and for human rights violations of Iranians (including his ordering of execution of thousands of political prisoners; but also lauded as a "charismatic leader of immense popularity", and a "champion of Islamic revival" by Shia scholars.


Khomeini overthrew OUR puppet goverment, and for good reason, but he also founded the idealogies of terrorist groups that affect the middle east dramasticaly.
