10th planet dream last nigh
Woke up relieved, had an interesting nightmare that turned out to be motivating.
I was at HQ, training with a relative newcomer who was wearing thick hornrimmed glasses. He was spazzing a bit, but much lighter than me. He gave up his back, allowing me to get a seat belt grip. He buried his face under my arms, then immediately started whimpering. After about a second I let go and saw that the pressure of the seat belt on his glasses caused the glass to shatter and dissect his eye. He was truly hurt. I felt terrible. Eddie was in the middle of a roll but I decided to head to the showers...no more rolling. The worst part is that it was this kids birthday, and they were literally bringing a surprise cake for him during our roll until he started whimpering. They quietly wheeled itback out. Worst moment of my life....if it were real. I recall sheepishly yelling, "Is anyone here an opthomologist?" After Eddie was told what happened, he was sullen. He headed outside and smoked a joint, people saying, "when's Eddie gonna say something?" Somehow, a couch and TV magically appeared on the mats. The couch had a bunch of Reeses peanut butter cups and Reeses cereal and Eddie sat, heartbroken, with a big spoon, sitting there eating them by the mouthful. He didn't know what to say. People were saying 'kick him out', I'm like, "I'm a visitor, I hardly train at 10th planets but please don't ban me, it would break my heart." Eddie leaned that way but was receptive to my 6-12 month suspension idea. I told him I haven't competed in a while but do represent 10th planet technique in all my rolls and I plan to compete more to showcase what I can do. Before answering, he's like, "Do you truly want to fit into the culture?" I'm like "Yes! More than anything." He's like, "Ok." Before handing me my verdict, he puts on a Tower 7 documentary on the TV that had magically appeared interspersed with 10th planet competition highlights and makes everyone watch in silence. We sat for a while watching them, as I awaited my verdict. I reevaluated my entire life during that documentary, how I would work to get in better shape, compete more, become far more technical, and make my next trip to HQ a stark contrast to this visit.
Then I woke up, opened my laptop, and this website forum was open. So there you go. I'll prolly be competing more. The good news is, no beginner's eyes were gouged in the coming to terms of this realization, no suspensions were handed out, and 100 Reeses candy bar wrappers were not strewn all over HQ. This dream was a sign.
