Check this out yalls, it's from Joel Nott's crew in PA, try it out and tell me what you think, I think it looks legit, but won't know til someone gets a few legit taps in rolling :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lajbSw6JAkI

What's being attacked? Hip joint? Calf muscle? Knee? Looks like it has potential.
But at the same time it looks like I could kick right out of it since the only thing holding my leg in place is him gripping his elbow. It becomes quadriceps versus fingertip grip strength to break the grip. Then glutes and hamstrings versus his bicep to kick the leg free. But I'm thinking like a HW. I could see myself bullying a fw with it, but I couldn't picture myself hitting that on my old HW rolling partners. Their legs would be too strong.
I like it, knees & hips oh my:cool:
Looks similar to the way Braulio finishes from there by hugging the knee.

Thats some real Limb snapping ninja shit!! I couldnt hear the name of it though?
I'd like some elaboration on this technique as well. It seems like the hips are what's being manipulated but I'm not sure. I'd concur with the earlier statement that a figure four with the arms may not be as affective against leg strength unless your torquing down with control of the toes? I guess the truck is limiting his lower body strength but I'd like to try and defend this just to understand the pozeesh and the sensation and sensibility of the attack.
thoughts...
braulio estima's version seems like a definitive hip attack. right?
Is the truck specifically a 10th Planet technique? Have mercy and remember, I am a noob.
The basic principles of the truck come from wrestling leg riding. In folkstyle, you end up there in a lot of pinning techniques that come off the cross body ride, such as bananna split or the guillotine (twister). You'll also see variations of the truck in just about any style with a deep leg lock repertoire (SAMBO, Catch, etc).
However, "the Truck" is a specifically 10th Planet name for the position. Eddie came up with the term due his time in the production truck while working for the UFC.
Eddie does advocate a two on one ankle and toe control with the hands though. Don't know that this is "unique", but it's a detail that I personally never picked up on elsewhere.
Seems good.
Josh has taught the Baurilo version to us as one of the subs from the truck, and had a name for it that I thought was a name in the system... When I first saw the vid I thought isn't that just a diff grip on the same thing, although it looks like with this control its twisting the hip crazy style, although I do wonder if someone booted hard, would it break your grip, or does the compressiong bending their leg prevent them from having the mechanics to do so... Lets get experimenting and get some SCIENCEEEEEE on this!
We will fucks with it here in the CHI. We love our twisters :)
Seems good, gonna try to drill it a bit and try it while rolling.
Something for us to experiment with. Thanks for putting this out there. I'd like to hear back and see if anyone is having a good amount of success with it after their experiments on the mats :).
Thanks for the great answer Javier!
Looks like a good control position that should create similar pressure to the Banana Split.
I use a similar grip sometimes to finish a Kimura/arm crush from top side control, but as David said that can be difficult against someone stronger than me; they simply fight to keep their arm straight and I can't lock the grip. I can imagine that being infinitely more difficult to do against someone's leg.
I'll use it some today during live rolling at the Noon class and film it and then post it here for us to study.
oh shit! this wrestler that was a walk in at my home gym, he did this to me. It hurts like a motherfucker if they are fast and get a good grip. its a pretty good submission, and it makes the truck just more deadly.
Hi Guys, I will try to come back on later and answer some Q's if I can. This was filmed less than 5 mins after Pj hit it rolling, so it's still fairly new to us as well. As Brian mentioned, the grip is similar to top-crossbody kimura...I call it the "I dream of Jeannie" (not sure everyone will get the reference).
We welcome any and all feedback. thanks
Joel
couple of videos of me beating up girls and skinny people with it during training at lunch

Nice Brandon!
The guy in my class, Paul 'pj' Sweda called it the Sweda Rock due to the rocking motion made to put pressure on.
Once we have the leg wrapped up and are facing opponents right side [12 sec. mark in vid on first page]:
1. Clamp right elbow down
2. Rock slightly downward to the right
3. Twist torso counterclockwise so right arm is moving toward their hips
So far it seems taps come from several things:
Achilles pain from the pressure in steps 1 and 2
Groin pull in right groin from step 3
and the Estima variation is still an option by extending the lock-down and sitting back
Joel
this is the best angle of the 3. i couldn't finish with the new control, but it made a nice distraction for the twister finish.

very cool brandon. thank you for posting the vids. You're students look awesome!
Tried it twice last night, opponent kicked out both times.
is it just me or does the braulio one just look like a crotch ripper just with a different grip. it looks nothing like the "pompadour"
We've been drilling something extremely similar in Santa Fe. Only instead of catching it from after landing in truck, we would utilize a figure four grip between the legs and on the ankle. Like a hybrid of wrestler and de souza. Its a lot of pressure and definitely legit
Ultimately, I think it's an alternate grip, not a separate finish.
havnt tried it but is ther nothing there like a calf slicer? one arm goes through behind the knee and the other grabs the toes and pulls down? i thought that was what was really getting the tap in the first video but oh well. might surprise an opponent that already knows banana split or something
I don't think so. Not a lot of "ball bearing" in the "nut cracker". And not enough torque in the arms alone. If you pulled to get more pressure on the knee/calf, I think you'd end up getting a tap from a groin stretch before you got enough pressure for a calf slicer. I'm just theorizing though. So far this looks like a combo of joint lock and groin stretch depending on the guy's flexibility.
I feel like there's something there, though. I just don't think that the grip in the video would work for guys with big strong legs. For me, I've always found that grabbing the toes is the best way to control the leg and keep it bent. In my head I'm trying to figure out a way to get the same twisting/stretching motion while including a different grip of some sort gripping the toes to prevent "kick-out."
I played with this as a sub a year or so ago but ultimately abandoned it because it was pretty low percentage. Most guys who know I like calf crashes would just straighten their leg an I'd have to move on. What I did start doing was going elbow deep an gable gripping, straightening my lock down an going straight banana split off this.
For the record, this has NOT been competition tested yet, only in rolling
If they are kicking out I don't know that it is locked in all the way. Thus far no one we we're able to secure it on was able to kick out. By "secure it" I mean in the full arms folded/tombstone/I dream of Jeannie position.
A weakness is that the larger the legs, the more difficult it is to lockup. Therefore I see it as best used against someone your own size, someone with skinny legs, or if you have proportionately longer arms then normal it would probably work with larger opponents.
It's relative to your arm length vs leg thickness.
looks good cant wait to try it
Looks like it would work. Kinda looks like a variation to finishing the banana split
we played with it in decatur over the weekend and ultimately i think its just an alternate grip to finish banana splits.
