My mom was over the other day and she told me I still haven't learned how to crap correctly. She told me I shouldn't be forcing it out so much and to just allow it to happen. Now I've been on this planet for decades and thought I was proficient at the art of crapping, is my mom correct?

Funny as this thread is, it's actually kind of serious. I can't give many details due to patient confidentiality, but I've seen some... how can I put this... mistakes in anal judgement (albeit very rarely). As it turns out, your mom is correct on this issue. If it's difficult to excrete then you still should not force it, you can (again, VERY rarely) do damage to skin, organ AND muscle tissue.
You can cut skin and get it infected due to the nature of the cut's location. This is far more common than muscle or organ damage.
