A Question About Randy Couture and BJ Penn in Regards to UFC 118...

Does Anyone know the actual reason why, at UFC 118, Randy was introduced as a "Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion" before his fight with James Toney but there was no mention of BJ Penn being a former Welterweight Champion in addition to being the former Lightweight Champ? Was it because of his dispute with the UFC? Randy had disputes with the UFC as well.. It just seemed kind of disrespectful not to acknowledge BJ's past accomplishments in the Octagon..

It could be just the fact that James Toney made sure he was introduced as a boxing champion to make him seem more then he was, and so Randy was as well.

I think that it was a credentials thing as well. though anyone watching who follows mma should be familiar with randy couture's accomplishments. the boxing fans who tuned in to watch that fight may have not been as familiar with him.
