The list would never end.... my taste in music is very broad. It would be easier to pick albums instead of specific songs. My approach to an album is much like reading a novel. I don't pick out 1 chapter and read it over and over again. I re-read the whole novel to capture the entire mood and temperament that the author or artist has presented.
I found myself leaning to this approach to music when I was a teenager and listening to The Doors a lot. The 1st CD I bought was Strange Days and I fell in love with his prose and writing style. I bought Jim Morrison's books on poetry and everything. I enjoyed everything about The Doors until I bought a compilation of their greatest hits. I absolutely hated it. The themes of the past CDs were destroyed....
Anyways, thought I'd share that. I much rather enjoy an album rather than a song and I avoid compilations till this day.
Some albums I really enjoyed and would repeat.
-Strange days by the doors
-Sublime (his prose are strongly influenced by Jack Kerouac and other beat poets)
-Tool ( I've enjoyed every album)
Andres Segovia (never found an album I did not like)
-Immortal Technique (never found an album I did not like)
-Portishead (all albums)
-Discovery (nice tones, funny lyrics)
-Neutral Milk Hotel (Probably my favorite band of all times, Jeff Mangum is an awesome writer, its to bad he had a breakdown, I really love the Lo-Fi genre)
-Daniel Johnston (I know the Guy is mentally handicapped, but I have NEVER listened to another writer that puts it all on the line in the way this Guy does - also a lo-fi singer!)
RATM - all Rochas albums were GANGSTA!!!
Like I said ... I can go on forever... I'm still not done... but I'll stop now.
And Yeah, I know my taste in music is weird. But life is all about taste and tasting :-) some people like butterscotch pudding ;-) story of my life.

Anybody else have the same approach to music as I do?

Also Eminems verse in 'No Love' THAT is seriously the greatest verse EVER in the history of rap. The build, the flow, the cadence, just wow. Simply wow.
