His press conferences are almost as good as the fights
Wow! I'm glad Dana still tells it how it is, GSP did not win!
anyone disagree?
I think fights should be scored on fight metrics not apparent damage because thats the rules and we can't always see what damage has been done visually. According to the fight metrics, Hendricks barely won,
http://blog.fightmetric.com/2013/11/...icial-ufc.html
GSP had more sig strikes but hendrick had more sig strikes to the head area which must be heavily weighted by the metrics. In the grappling area GSP had twice the take downs with the same ratio of success and one sub attempt.
Normally octagon control is considered as well as pressing the fight, i think thats goes to gsp in most of the rounds.
I def give gsp 2 rounds but have to re-watch the fight. I defiantly dont see any reason for outrage. I think if gsp hadn't said hes is taking time off or whatever then dana wouldn't have even mentioned the decision.
Now if fights were scored based on damage (like we MRI'ed both fighters or something afterwards) then of course hendricks would have won. I thought he was being wishful when he started walking around like he won for sure. People say you have to decisively beat the champ.
I hope GSP gets counseling for his alien abductions and they fight again.
Dana thought he just lost one of his biggest cash cows.
Have to agree with Aaron. Based on how a fight is meant to be scored I thought it was a lot closer than people are saying. Definitely wasn't the worst robbery in ufc history.
Also I have noticed GSP ALWAYS looks like he has been in a car crash after his fights. It is pretty clear he bruises/damages very easily, unlike a BJ Penn or Anderson Silva that can be punched in the face a bunch of times and still look fine.
:)
Georges face/damage over his last 3 fights

Fights need to be subjective, no one is the same. Fight meteric will never be able to tell you someones ability to take damage, heart, control of the range, sweeps, passes, footwork, angles, aggression (doesn't always mean with strikes), etc. There will always be components of a fight a pure stat will not be able to measure, at least for now.
Love Chael's little blurbs after he gets beat up.
It's hard to be the champ that long, pressure must be insannnneeeeee.
Hendricks was rightfully frustrated and upset.
Where was Rory?
Yeah that's why I'm up in the air about the fight. I know that GSP landed a lot more shots. He was more accurate. As far as takedowns, my memory's rusty, but I think they both landed equally. GSP has a lot more variety in his strikes as well. It's not his fault that he shows damage easily.
But at the same time, Hendricks landed the harder shots. Hendricks was the only one who looked comfortable and out of danger.
It's a closer fight than a lot of people think. One judge scored damage. Two judges scored points.
